does anyone have any star trek TOS recs, preferably k/s? ao3 is very reboot-heavy and i don’t prefer those characters.

oh and if anyone knows of a universe-collision fic where the Enterprise crews from the two universes run into each other i’ve also been looking for that! i’m surprised i haven’t found any already.

 

Years ago when I was rly into STTOS I read a bunch of good stuff on ffnet by pat foley about Spock growing up and about his family. Grain of salt on quality bc I read these back in middle school/high school and I don’t honestly know how well they hold up.

Game of Thrones time-travel fix-it fic. The plan was to send some people back to the past, taking over their younger bodies, so they could prevent the War of Five Kings from making Westeros so unprepared for the Long Night, and they succeeded; some people woke up at the designated time in the past with memories of the future. Standard time-travel fix-it plan.
Only, by accident that "some" ended up being about half of everyone alive at the time. And by "memories of the future", I mean their lives up until their deaths, and being that this is Game of Thrones, most of them died with no real clue of what was going on but absolutely certain that they'd just been betrayed.
None of the usual faffing about trying to hide knowledge of the future and trying to adjust things with surgical precision. Just chaos and upheaval and preemptive revenge. Prevenge.

I would say this is the Into the Spider-Verse May/Liv fic we all deserve, except I'm not fully convinced it's not a literal official animated short that through some wizardry has been transmitted to us through the medium of prose fiction.

i’m only six chapters in but please allow me to rec Dominoes by meridianpony! it’s a star wars time travel fic set during the clone wars, but instead of the usual suspects, the ones who get sent back in time are Domino Squad! all of them, including the ones who only live for a couple episodes!!

i am absolutely goddamn loving this fic, it is exactly what i was hoping for when i went looking for clone-centric stories and i am fighting not to stay up till 5 am and read the whole thing :D i’m only a short ways in, it hasn’t fully picked up speed yet, but the clones have to try to set right what went wrong from the position of being totally expendable built-to-die grunts that even the good leaders are never going to just take at their word, while ALSO dealing with the Many Traumas they have from their first time around. my team-as-family and Quality Angst expectations were high when i went in and they have already been surpassed. folks this is the good shit

A Song of Ice and Fires That Weren’t All My Fault.

Dresden Files/ASOIAF crossover. It’s a very Overpowered Extrauniversal Character Breaks the Setting sort of story, which I know not everyone’s into, but also, it’s kinda freaking hilarious. Also-also, it contains %10,000 more Maggie Dresden than DF canon, and for a bonus, about %5,000 more Demon Brain Baby Dresden, too.

Single gripe- comma-to-period ratio is skewed way in favor of not ending the bloody sentence where the sentence needs to stop.

(I know I should be the last person to be bitching about run-on sentences, but these are like... OK, some of them you could plausibly make a case for taking a semicolon, but not in uninterrupted chains of 3 per paragraph, and also, a comma is not a semicolon.)

(but also-also, it’s fun as hell if this sorta thing’s your bag, and I’m about to go read it again.)

Fair warning- unfinished, last updated September 2017. (But the cliffhanger is only moderately cliff-hangy. More “OK, then what?” than “OH GOD WHY.”)

... I must concede that this one’s worse. I’m not quite sure how one goes about teaching someone to whole sentences.
