cats coming out of general anesthesia are universally hilarious

 

One time my mom visited a friend's house for the first time the day one of that friend's cats had a tooth extraction. While coming off the anesthesia that night the cat was extremely affectionate to my mom, rubbing and cuddling her for hours. The next morning, when the cat saw mom, it got wide-eyed and spooked away and was frightened of her for days since.
She theorizes said cat was under the impression she was a hallucination or something, either way a+ catting
