million-dollar idea: cry/sweat-proof eyeliner/mascara

 

no seriously why does "waterproof" eye makeup refuse to withstand me sweating or crying, both of which are things i do with great frequency

someone needs to make shit like that that can withstand me sobbing about my trauma and/or sweating like a zahhak

(tl;dr there is a REASON i rarely wear eye makeup to therapy)

 

the "white people can't have naturally curly/wavy hair" thing i've seen on tungle is so fucking dumb that it wraps around to being fucking hilarious

sadly a lot of waterproof eyemakeup isn't half as resilient as it's advertized to be. Maybe look for the recs of some beauty gurus on youtube?
mind you 'waterproof' often doesn't mean smudgeproof, rubbing your eyes does more damage than just plain crying or sweating so maybe that's the problem.

 

The problem I keep encountering is that when I cry my eyeliner drips down and looks bad. I’ll def look around to see if I can find any really good liner that’ll withstand that!

 

friendly reminder that having to conform to traditional gender roles is bad and stupid

like...for example, it’s one thing if a woman DECIDES to be a stay-at-home mom, but it shouldn’t be FORCED on her? like, my parents actively discussed who would stay home with me and my mom a. works in a field that just doesn’t pay as well as my dad’s field (regardless of gender) and b. was more okay with having a fair amount of free time, so she actively made the CHOICE to be a stay-at-home mom/housewife (and wound up being very happy and satisfied with that choice, fwiw)

and it was a perfectly equal agreement that both my parents had a say in

BUT if that role had been forced upon her and it wasn’t what she truly wanted that would be fucked up

also clothing being so strongly gendered is so dumb imo?? like...let people wear tuxes even if they’re not men! let people wear dresses even if they’re not women! AND PURSES AND POCKETS FOR ALL

 

good things relatedly:

• loving, equal relationships
• girls who are comfy with it in suits (mmmmm <3)
• tomboys
• guys who are comfy with it wearing fun makeup and liking being pretty
• soft boys
• purses
• pockets
• being able to make your own decisions about ur future regardless of gender
• gender equality in general

 

also: let boys and men be sensitive! let them cry and be loving and care about others! let them express their feelings productively! let them wear makeup or nail polish or skirts if they wanna!

tl;dr toxic masculinity is bullshit and if i ever have a son i am teaching him that and letting him express himself and teaching him everything about both kindness and self-defense that i’d teach a daughter

 

also if i ever have kids i’m gonna make sure they know that self-defense, be it verbal or physical, is important and good if they’re being bullied or harassed

i’ll teach them that kindness is paramount, but if someone hurts them that they have every right to fight back

(see also: my parents encouraging me to deck the kid who kept kissing me against my will if he ever dared to again. he did, so i decked him. his mom was pissed but my parents defended my actions and were proud of me for standing up to him)

 

my gf and i have decided that if we get married she'll wear a suit and i'll wear a big floofy dress <3
