As someone who was abused in middle school by someone who was ALSO a middle schooler, whoever posted that can seriously go fuck themselves. Also the trash aspect of “bad” ships is a huge part of the fun?? Like...as an example, I despise fluffy PearlRose and if I saw fluffy Jaspis I’m pretty sure I’d die on the spot, and if someone was like “uwu they r good n pure actually” about either ship I would fight them IRL.
The phrase "anti-anti" itself kind of already accepts the basic principle of anti-ism. Maybe instead of anti-anti, we should be pro.
i think "i'm a pro" is a bit ambiguous. although i do like the idea of titling anti-anti threads "pro tip" :D :D
I do not understand why you ship this if you appearently hate one of the characters but basically every single one of your many, many fics is person A mistreating person B and person B has to learn how to be a strong independent twink. Its like. I get when you need to work through some stuff but after like 50 fics just let person B date someone else.
Ok thats not entirely fair- they also do a lot of Person B being horribly sad and Person A has to save them from their terrible circumstances but usually still fucks up somehow and Person B looses all of the fragile hope they had built up
The First Law of Fanfiction Summaries: If you see a fic on AO3 and there is a question in the summary, there is a 90% chance the answer is "sex."
An author who I super liked has started writing like. Exclusively the canon het ship and I mean. It's still good technically but it is honestly just exhausting for me to try and form an emotional reaction to this fucking ship I don't care if you're trying to go all girlpower and fix the female character
tfw I go on ao3 to check for new fics and one of the fics I look at has an author's note of 'x character is a goodest girl who would never say fuck' never fucking mind said character canonically speaks in a rough and rude manner and also had a horrible childhood growing up as a sex slave in a war zone, nope, she would definitely never say a swear word in any context I'm so tired
I mean I would personally expect that comment to be purposely factitious and for the author to then drop f bombs every other word. But that's just my experience with authors in my particular fandom so *shrug*
Let Furiosa say fuck. Or don't. It doesn't matter, she'll say it anyway, because fuck if she's going to listen to you any more.
my experience is that people giving those comments tend to play things completely straight, and it was in this case. the character did not say fuck in the fic once no, it's a character from an obscure anime I've watched
Been cowriting stuff with some other people, in which the characters are known by codenames when they're involved in the group the story is about. One of the cowriters did an entry which is lovely writing but I fucking HATE the codename they picked.
Look deaging fic where the kid is a sweet lil wide eyed ragamuffin is fine and all but where's the fic where the kid self is a rambunctious screaming hellgoblin
Especially if the character being deaged is the smart mature one of the group. At the very least they should be a little wierdo trying to poke dead animals and getting their friends to carry every single cool rock they see and if you don't carry this three hundredth vaguely green rock it's cryin time
I wrote a deaging fic where the kid is a paranoid ball of emotional trauma who immediately assumes he's been kidnapped and they're planning to hold him for ransom or murder him! :::DDD
there’s a red vs. blue fic that kind of fits that bill - the character in question was turned back into a teenager, not a toddler, and he thinks all his closest friends are kidnappers and/or pervs.
i wish i could take the exact average of these two authors in the star wars fandom. both of their writing is amazing except for a couple key points of characterization which i disagree with, and those points are directly opposite each other. if they were combined then everything they wrote would be idfic for me
