this is the most misleading title because it's actually talking about phenotypic plasticity (if/how much traits can change) but does it specify that? oh heck no

 

Boyfriend just got back from trivia. First place was his team with 170 points out of a possible 210 (100 points of standard play, five points for liking the trivia runner's page on facebook, and betting as much as you want on the final question.)

Second place was a tie between the other three teams, at zero points each.

 

"Why am I so tired, I haven't done anything that physically exhausting" - a thought had by Me, An Absolute Walnut, who has been hand-cranking a frigging sailrite (basically a specialty sewing machine designed for canvas and sailing gear and other outdoor or heavy-weight fabrics) All Day in between fighting with the machine to make it behave.

Also "if I dropped the regular sewing machine on my foot, it would break the sewing machine and it probably wouldn't do my foot much good either. If I dropped the sailrite on my foot, it would break my foot and it probably wouldn't do the machine much good either" - stray thought that occurred as I pondered how one would explain the difference between a sailrite and a regular sewing machine.
