Definitely dill chips or if you've got a sweet tooth, bread and butter spears. Make sure pb is on both sides, following the Jelly Rule (aka making sure you don't get soggy bread)

nice thanks! my first inclination was bread & butter spears for a pb&p-- i prefer kosher dills for snacking, but i wasn't sure if the dill flavor would go with the peanut butter. gotta give that a try next time i go grocery shopping.

TIL YouTube has a free to watch (with ads) section on their official movie channel. No need for free trials or paid accounts, it's for anybody! The channel is called YouTube Movies and it has movies you have to pay for as well as movies you don't

yup! it's got a rotating selection, with some weird stuff in there. but i was able to watch Earth Girls Are Easy for the first time in a decade (i love that ridiculous movie) so i make a point to check it out every once in a while now. (also they seem to pretty consistently have most if not all of the Don Bluth cartoons!)

TIL "sensitivity readers" are a thing, which makes me feel a bit less nervous about writing accidentally offensive things in stuff I'm trying to get published - I have a safety net if I need one. Phew.

TIL that you can, in fact, can or pickle root vegetables. (Specifically, I was researching if it's possible to make canned turnips or to pickle them.) I also learned that unless you're pickling the root vegetables, you should can them using a pressure canner in order to ensure any bacteria still on the vegetables is killed during the process.

This is because it's really hard to ensure that the veggies are clean enough that you won't be leaving a bacterial load on them, if you just scrub and peel them before canning. I had to scrub the turnips I pulled up three times, before they looked anything like clean enough to start peeling.

TIL 'bread rolls' are not actually flat breads rolled up like I had previously thought, but instead dough that's been rolled into a roughly spherical shape and baked like that
