@unknownanonymous i'm at the end of book four still because I've been cringing at where Harry intends to go for the summer and your spoilers are intensely comforting to me.

have you been actually reading my spoilers or is the mere fact that i'm still reading the series after book 4 what's comforting you?

 

Spoiler: sacrifices arc book 5 chapter 47 (62)

harry talking to vera worked out really well. and his with draco seems to be working out really well too. harry's starting to understand the importance of self-care and how much he loves draco.
and whoa, silver-mirror is cool! other worlds!
(though i think the idea was mentioned earlier in sacrifices, with, like, where lux aeterna came from, for example.)
i wonder if it'll ever become a major part of the plot.
and harry might be able to free the northern goblins!

Swinging by to drop off this awesome Kingsman fic, the best of the lot. If you haven't seen the movie Kingsman, and like action movies, and want to see a darn cute one with lots of sexy spy suits and gadgets and also puppies, go see Kingsman.

Summary:

Harry's brains dried in the hot Kentucky sun. A fly landed on an exposed piece of his skull for a few seconds and then buzzed off. His blood seeped into the dust. In the distance sirens began to wail, and the crisp, elegant click of patent leather oxfords on concrete drew to a halt beside his ruined corpse.

“Oh dear,” someone said sadly, although Harry wasn't alive to hear it. He heard, saw, felt, and was, nothing.

Or, the one in which Harry is officially dead, actually a wizard, occasionally a small dog, and utterly unable to keep his distance from his young successor.

 

Also, let's talk Harry Potter Fanfic. I read Sacrifices until book 4-5, I think, but after awhile I just lost interest, it was too different from regular Harry Potter and I get sort of tired of AUs where the protagonist is too Phenomenally Good At Stuff. But I remain impressed as hell at the length and thought that went into that series.

Designations Congruent with Things by cleanwhiteroom, aka The Pacific Rim Fic That Ruined WithAnH's Life. Newt/Hermann, 250k words, complete. Packed full of math, science, and philosophy references and both funny and soul-crushingly sad.

There's also a prequel that's "only" 90k, a couple albums of nerdy music, a half-complete audiobook, and a radio play.

 

oh my fucking god. the part where "Hermann snaps, “Descartes or Nietzsche.”" and their mutual reactions to that whole thing, I burst out cackling, like full out evil witch cackling. This is fantastic, thank you.

What do you mean, "but"? Harry/Draco fic is nearly J.K. Rowling's greatest lasting gift to the world, second only to the four Houses.
