At this point I try to take a Bob Ross approach. Although referring aloud to anything on your face as a happy accident is a bit awkward with the phrasing.

 

That is definitely a good way to approach it! Makeup is a fickle mistress and brushes do as they want.

ohhhhhh my god i NEED to talk to my therapist and i will not see her till Thursday. why is the week so long.

possibly! but i try to keep an image of cool-headed maturity while im at school, much like a cat who wont play with string while there's people in the room. And like said cat, being seen being silly is......... dreadful.

We made our own blood thingies for lab class today with our own blood!! To see blood cells!! These are all me!!!

 

We could bring the thingie home or add it to our lab boxes and... i kept mine.... it me.

 

That's always a good time, love seeing tissue that belongs to me. got some nice WBC in there! i love the visual representation of the general distribution of numbers of RBC versus other

 

I am super fond of that WBC in the middle picture that looks like someone dancing. That funky little hypersegmented neutrophil. And yeah, it is such a cool visual! And it was pretty nice to make the thing, our preprepared samples are amazing but there is something about the process that is pretty satisfying, and idk. Knowing that it's me!!! is just so much fun. I wanna make a nice little box for it lmao right now it is sitting in a godiva pearl tin

 

what is NOT fine or fun is that i grossly overestimated my ability to understand hematology treatises for this quick case summary review thing about follicullar lymphoma

 

all the leukemias are the woooorst

also: very pretty neutrophils and lymphocytes, would be easy to manually count for a labtech, congrats.

 

Thank you! I am glad I would not give too much trouble to a labtech.

But yeah they are. Bad. I am looking at a summary of all the lab work needed to diagnose and distinguish the different types of leukemias and lymphomas and it is so much stuff. A billion special techniques. So finnicky! And I didn't even get to the actual type of neoplasm I am supposed to be studying

 

yeah honestly most of the time something suspicious comes across our microscopes we're like 'plz send this to a specialist facility'

also: my boss calls WBC that are not immediately identifiable or weird 'suspectocytes' and i thought you might get a giggled out of that
