    i was reading about the effects of global warming on minnesota, since we're the second fastest warming state in the union (after alaska i think) and possibly the most ecologically affected, since we're the confluence of 5 biomes. mostly bad news, but i can't be sad about bobcats moving in. they're horny mofos though, and the canada lynx has not actually retreated north yet... are you following my drift? behold... the BLYNX.

    these adorable hybrids are NOT infertile, the way some hybrids of related species are, and at least two female blynx have been observed with full and healthy litters of kittens. or should we say... BLYTTENS.

    they're new and few and not well studied, so nobody's sure really what their characteristics are, but i'm hoping they're hardy like lynx but saucy like bobcats, and eat feral pigs so we don't get overrun. :P

    also, this is just a regular bobcat kitten, but i had to share it. can't embed, but please click for joy.
