stopped pokemon hunting for now due to the intense frustration of only being able to find zangoose in a horde with four seviper who attack it instead of me until it faints before i have a chance to wipe out the seviper and catch it
i don't even know what to do about this short of training up a pokemon with a healing move or something but then i would waste all my turns healing zangoose and never get around to killing the seviper? moves that hit everyone at once are no good because they... hit everyone...

 

gotta give ash some time to suck apparently, since he didn't forget everything he ever knew at the beginning of this series

I don't know why the psyduck is named after an elder scrolls daedric prince when everyone else is roman goddesses but hey i'll roll with it

also i think this is the game where, when possible, i'm trying to catch all female pokemon. still didn't have the patience to soft reset for a female starter though

 

My HeartGold game i finished (okay, technically i don't think i've finished it as i haven't got through the entire postgame stuff yet but you know what i mean) a while ago, and that was before I ever gave my pcs personalities, but here she is anyway

naming scheme in that was after one of my favourite book series. mostly.

 

my Pearl game was started when I still shared the games with my bro, and is notable almost purely for having Percy the level 100 empoleon in it. I opened up the pokemon menu and found percy, maria the luxray, and a charizard in my team. the charizard was traded for, since when that still worked my brother adored trading for the most random shit, and had a dunsparce breeding racket going for a while. the pc box still has a few traded legendaries in it.
i haven't restarted the game because i don't want to lose Percy, but i'm in two minds about trying to get him off the save file, since there'll most likely be no trading up since swsh won't have a full national pokedex. same with the legendaries, really.
might put them on sun and/or moon just to be able to pet them? or XY/ORAS to make them play silly minigames
