i didn't see a general minecraft thread so i thought "hey, im a grown up, i can make one!" this is intended for general minecraft fandom stuff, from any version of the game, singleplayer or multiplayer. talk about your favorite redstone contraption, how cute turtles and foxes are, speculate on what upcoming features the next update could have, show us how your building skills have grown, or that new skin you made. that kind of thing. imma start off with sharing two nano farms i made for 1.14: a water based one, and a darkness based one both fit in a 3x3x5 area, which is really freaking small for a 5-dispenser farm [*edit* added a tag to the thread (#modded minecraft) since i forgot to put it there originally. so yes this is for stuff you like in minecraft mods / texture packs too!]
HOLY SHIT THEY'RE ADDING BEES IN 1.15 they're so cute and fat and squishy looking *edit* LOOK AT THEM
They are significantly cuter than forestry's bees, I'll grant that much. Probably less of a headache, too...
BEEEEEEEEEEEES i'm so hype they're flippin adorable! honestly with the last few updates i've been really impressed with the amount of care and effort that Microsoft has been putting into this 10-year-old game. the aquatic update and village and pillage both made the game feel fresh and fun and exciting again, and i've probably gotten more enjoyment out of it in the past year or two than i had since i first started playing. also, tamed cats sleep on beds now! game of the fucking year
yayy I was hoping there was a minecraft thread I found a seed with a pretty snowy taiga biome to settle down in, and it turns out to have a village nearby too, so I've been working on building it a town wall before remodeling it I finally caved and added a texture pack to my game, I really really like mizuno's pack
recently made some progress on a dryad skin project some early attempts here and here Spoiler: pics now working on a better kimono version than the one i tried here Spoiler: kimonos
posted fixed kimono bases for anyone to use/edit as they like over here includes long and short versions, an alternate obi, and one without the obi in case someone wants a different style also posted a quick tiny pixie skin for anyone who wants to be an annoyingly helpful friend on a server :3c
I've made some more progress on my snowy taiga town c: Spoiler: maypole pic this isn’t that weather appropriate, but I went with a maypole for the town square. with all the spots of grass growing through the snow in this biome, it kinda looks like it’s juuust starting to melt, so idk maybe they’re having a snowy late spring Spoiler: blacksmith pics the roof took a while to design, but I’m pretty happy with it I think! the weaponsmith lives in the house add on, and their workshop is shared by the other smiths in the village Spoiler: laundry and diagonal build pics I’m SUPER happy with this little corner of the village. to the left is the cartographer’s house, and to the right is the shepherd’s. there’s a baby villager there as well, I don’t know yet what they’re going to grow up to be. also made my very first diagonal build Spoiler: greenhouse pics I figured a snowy village like this one would benefit from a greenhouse, so this is my trio of farmers’ new workplace no picture of the entrance to this build yet because I’m still not liking it at all, but I’ll update when I figure it out
finally got a "finished" attempt at the other skin i've been working on here Spoiler: a creepy mushroom "dryad"
i love that mushroom skin! now i want to make a settlement on a mushroom island and switch my skin to that without mentioning it to anyone...
the thought was little bits of mycelium tendrils growing up/down her limbs ...that or a wicked case of varicose veins *shrug* its free to use/edit so go at it if you'd like :D i made it (and the other dryad) for a modified Tree Spirit Challenge idea i had the idea was to start on a barren world with little to no grass or plants and spread grass and flowers and trees and such. and then a second version of it where you start in whatever kind of world you want and spread mycelium and giant mushrooms, overtaking grass and trees and flowers if necessary so if you want to use it for a mushroom themed playthrough that is definitely in line with the reason it was made for :D
aside from the docks outside the walls, I think I'm done with this village! I'm going to call it Juniper. I think it looks really cozy at night [x I was planning on using a larger variety of blocks to texture the pathways, but with the snow building up on all non-path blocks, it gets a bit too busy I think and covers up all my work Spoiler: sauna I made a working sauna with hidden campfire blocks under the floor Spoiler: bar not shown, but I decided to put the bell inside this little bar. the villagers are gonna get hella cramped but I'll see how it goes x'D Spoiler: church I tried to do something a bit more unique for the church, but idk how well that worked out Spoiler: fisherman's house I thought I'd switch it up a little and use kelp to insulate the fisherman's house. also it's so tempting to use those barrels for cabinetry everywhere, but when I do I spawn a billion fisherman, so I've gotta resist to keep the division of labor a little more even x'D
