because sometimes you know (or suspect) there's a word for the thing but can't remember what it is describe the thing and hopefully someone will provide a word or words to your satisfaction
is there an extant category term that refers to the sun and the moon as seen from Earth? "celestial bodies" is close but I'd prefer a single word
the point is to describe... the lights of the sky, across time, as a single category? in modern times it's not common to do that, more common to refer to size classes of objects like stars, planets, satellites/moons, etc
I think that in ancient astronomy, planets were often regarded as Those Weird Super-Bright Stars That Move? The word "planet" is derived from "planetes asteres," or "wandering stars."
