it's a Transformers fic, the Xenoethnography series by Therrae. the main character is an ethnographer hired by Optimus Prime as a sort of cultural liasion between the Autobots on Earth and the humans they work with. if you like Big Worldbuilding (particularly xenobiology and alien cultures), amazing characterization, GOOD OCs, and interspecies friendships that go in-depth on what exactly that means for both parties, you will love this fic. I recommend it whether or not you're interested in Transformers.
