oh my god giovanni phoned nanu up to make weird insinuations that he used to be a criminal and ask him what 'the blinding one' is. which nanu is actively lying about not knowing about

the plot is thickening like a tasty, tasty stew and honestly i'd rather ash and co didn't get involved, but here they are nonetheless

 

also, nanu completely ignoring the phone initially to continue playing with his little cup and ball circus trick until the ringing got too annoying is. big mood.

 

nanu is also lying to ash about being kahuna

these are incredibly spoiled and poorly-trained meowth and nanu has dumped them off on ash 'until the kahuna gets back'

acerola finally called nanu her uncle so now i'm wondering even more why she was like 'he's my Good Friend' earlier
were they trying to imply they're not blood relatives? that nanu doesn't like her calling him her uncle in front of other people, since they were alone when she finally used the word? were they just being stupid?

i still have a Moon game i haven't started actually, not that i'll probably do that until after i finish ultra moon.

 

i can't help wondering what they're gonna do with guzma's history with kukui in the anime
because the main cast are such goody-goodies

 

good things about sunmoon:
- the two sons
-lana
-kiawe
- some genuinely good writing and emotional moments
-ash is still ash even if he doesn't look like himself

bad things about sunmoon:
-still not entirely sure about what the animation's doing
-rotomdex
-sophocles
-every so often the writing throws me a complete curveball that i don't understand for shit and so i can never be quite comfortable and trusting of it the way i am with older series because i don't know what the fuck it's going to do next

 

okay it's been a while since i played Sun and i'm not far enough through Ultra Moon yet, but I feel like Guzma wasn't a cold, calculating bastard in the games
