cold coffee is just what my life is like bc no thermos in the world is powerful enough for me waking up a solid four hours later than the rest of my family when it's only got about a cup's worth left inside as for nuking drinks in the microwave, microwaved orange juice with a single bag of ginger tea in it is my cold cure, no i am not taking criticism at this time
i genuinely like it and microwaved orange juice has been a comfort drink for me since I was v young bc i always had issues not eating enough and it was a way to get carbs and limited minerals and vitamins into me. Orange works rly nice hot, tbh, in like mulled wine, or as a sauce, and it is a good combo with ginger
That actually sounds lovely. I have made hot orange drinks over the stove with the same concept, just tossing in a little dried ginger, cinnamon sticks and cloves to simmer. Strain and serve, it's good stuff.
Idk if I've said this before, but wet bread is good and preferable. Favorite Example: Cake and a glass of milk? Good. Cake with a glass of milk poured over it? Excellent!!!
neat! I remember when I was a kid, my dad's go-to sickness/recovery food was a slice of (wholewheat sandwich) bread, shredded into cubes and eaten with milk and a bit of white sugar. conversely, my fave type of cookie is any kind that can be dipped in a beverage. truly, some kinds of cookies are better for this than others, and some are better in hot or cold beverages respectively.
People fight over the proper utensil to eat rice. Is it the fork? The spoon? A combination of the two? Perhaps the chopsticks? no all these answers are false you eat rice using tortillas bread is the superior eating utensil as you can consume even the utensil itself
I HAVE FOOD QUESTION. NAMELY. boyfriend wants to learn how to german food as he is very fond of the foods served at our local farmer's market by a german family. your potato pancakes, spatzles, and the like. does anyone have suggestions. either of recipes or just dishes in general. how do we german.
'grate many potato. grate little a carrot. Put salt. strain liquid that comes out bc salt a bit. add one (1) egg and as much flour as needed to make thing that sticks. fry' is more or less what dad gave me as our potato pancake recipe. also add white pepper and like some parsley and other stuff at some point in there idk
Variante potato pancake from mum: Grate enough potato to feed as many people as you wanna feed. Put in strainer over sink to predrain with some Salt. Finely dice one onion. Squeeze liquid from potato, transfer to bowl. Add onion, pepper, one egg and enough flour to make it stick together. Get your hand in there to mix. Fry up till golden Brown Eat with whatever but especially with Apple sauce.
-nods sagely- we eat ours with quark or tzatziki and smoked salmon mostly but apple sauce is also Very Good
Depending on what your boyfriend likes, i also have recipes for G'rupfter/obazda, liver dumplings, bread dumplings, german pancakes, various cakes and so on
He is...not terribly picky right now unfortunately so I am not sure how to narrow that down. He has gone sure to everything mentioned...
Alton brown suggests using instant mashed potato cakes instead of flour in potato pancakes and such, as it's supposed to give a more potato-y flavor.
I would also like more German recipes because grandma's grandparents came from over there in 1830 ish and by the time I showed up no one even liked sauerkraut anymore
Alright i shall attemptsoome write up later. Mostly southern germany recipes because i'm Franconian and do not know the strange Northern ways
That's nice of alton brown to suggest but like. what kidn of sad potatoes is he using that they don't taste potato-y enough against what amounts to like maybe a a quarter cup of flour to a four people portion of potats at the ABSOLUTE most if you have the world's soggiest juiciest earth apples???????? i'm genuinely concerned. Alton Brown Why.
