Legion smiles indulgently at Mutt and Nul. "...there's still plenty for both of you to learn, but we've got all the time we need."
"...listen, while the world here does run on a certain set of cinematics, I'm pretty sure the Queen is going to want to follow your story." She grins at Mutt and Nul. "And, hey, as long as we're here, you've got backup." She looks at Mutt. "We've always had your back, right?"
Legion smiles. "We'll help you however we can, from now until the end of time." She looks at her partner in crime. "Isn't that right, Even?"
"Does it even need to be said? You're one of us, Mutt... and now you are, too, Nul. We take care of each other. Hell or high water."
Nul nods. "Is there....um. Is there anything that can be done about my wings?" They're starting to ache again, and he feels vaguely uncomfortable having them uncovered for this long.
"Probably, we'll do what we can. Promise. We're here for both of you." Legion promises.... When Even nods agreement, Mutt and Nul feel magic settle over them.
Nul tenses, but makes himself relax as best he can. It's just Legion and Even, and they have no reason to harm him.
They're both smiling. Then the Queen appears behind them, smiling thinly. "Even. Legion. I need to speak with both of you." Their smiles falter.
"I'm the Queen," she smiles. "...Legion. Even. You've a new story." She drops a pair of wallets on the table. "You're to return home. Your time here has come to an end. Congratulations."
"What? But..." Mutt can feel tears forming in their eyes. "But...no! They're mine! You can't take them away!" They're gripping their knife instinctively, even though they know it won't help.
"They have to go." The Queen circles, cupping Mutt's cheek and smiling. "But they'll be there when you get home, outside. You'll find them again."
