Hello everyone! I'm Allie (princess-nertbugs on Tumblr). I've been lurking for a little while and thought I should make a formal introduction :) I live in south-east London in the UK. I work in the civil service. I'm a fan of tabletop games - especially things like Zombicide, Munchkin, etc - and am an avid D&Der (level 13 human cleric, hi!) I'm also in to knitting, origami, and consuming books at frankly unhealthy speeds. I'm in the process of buying my first house with my boyfriend, which is proving to be a terrifying experience. A short shopping list of my brainweird predilections includes anxiety, depression, and temporal lobe epilepsy. I've not had many opportunities to talk to others with similar issues. Pleasure to meet you all :)
Hello! Fellow book devourer here. :) had to force myself to read slower so I wouldn't run out quicker. Which books do you like especially? Also I wish you so much luck in buying that house!! I know from my parents' experiences how stressful that must be. Does it also need fixing work? Or is it in good enough condition to buy as is? From what I remember my parents had to spend a lot just to make the house liveable first before they could move in, and we spent time in a hilariously tiny apartment in the interim!
Hello! I know it's a bit of a cop out answer, but I'll read pretty much anything, though I have an especial soft spot for apocalyptic sci-fi. I just finished the second book in Hugh Howey's Wool Trilogy, which is so, so, so good. I'm currently reading a biography of Empress Dowager Cixi, who was an absolute badass. What sort of thing are you in to? I'm always open to recommendations :) And thank you very much :) It is super stressful. The place we're looking at now doesn't need much in way of fixing up - just some cosmetic work on the upper floor. Plus my bf will want to rewire everything to accommodate the vast amount of tech he'll be bringing in. Luckily we're both in stable accommodation at the moment, so we'll be able to do any work needed before we move in. It's just the paperwork and the numbers and the waiting that seem to be the most difficult. We've got our fingers crossed, but we've heard so many horror stories about things falling through at the last minute that we're holding off on thinking of the place as 'ours' until we have the keys in our hands. It's a learning curve, for sure :)
