Aesthetic shift

    So... Is it normal for someone's aesthetic preferences to be pretty much unchanged for decades? Not just colors, but, well... Mom's really into 1970s macrame and big-eyed cartoon characters, with no apparent awareness that those designs read very dated, today. It's like her sense of aesthetics froze when she was in her late teens, and has never changed since then.

    Just curious whether that's normal, like older adults 'feeling' like they're really eighteen on the inside, or if this is odd.
