my internet connection (which is bell, btw) won't connect to my ipad, though it obviously works just fine with my computer. my internet connection literally doesn't appear on the list of possible things to connect in my ipad's settings, even though other people's internet connections appear just fine on it. and yeah, this is just a really weird problem. like, specifically my internet connection won't work with specifically my ipad. my internet connection can work with other devices, and my ipad can at least find other internet connections, but putting the two together just doesn't work. and i'm sure it was working yesterday.
Hrmm. Okay, not an expert but I have encountered this problem before. Also, sorry for my severe lack of relevant terminology. First off, I would try turning off your internet(and device). I am told it should be off for atleast 30 seconds, before turning it back on. Sometimes tech is just finicky and needs a reset. Okay, so one thing is that when you have multiple devices using one internet source, they each get an address or access number or something. Sometimes two devices will share this number, and internet will sort of deny the other access. The other problem I have encountered is that when you set up your internet, you can set up a type of signal(or something). Some devices can only access certain types.
@rorleuaisen thanks for the help! my internet-ipad problem has already been fixed by now (resetting did it), but this could still come in useful later, if the problem reoccurs.
Belated reply, but if it happens again, the things to try, in order for an iPad: 1) Reset the network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) 2) Reset all Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings) 2) Backup the iPad (HT203977)and then restore the iPad as new though iTunes. (HT201252) After you test is as new, as long is it works then, you can restore your backup to the iPad (HT204184) Intermittent issues can be lots of things, like interference from something, the network settings being corrupt, or the antenna failing. The various HTxxxxx are article numbers at Apple.com with instructions if you need them. You can just google them to get a link if you need them.
