Ache + joints + weather sounds arthritic or otherwise autoimmune? Like, possibly way off base. But you should definitely talk to a doctor.

Did you notice it in your hands first? My first thought is rheumatoid arthritis, but I have not met you and have only had about 4 months of PT school.

(As a PT student, I want to mention that you may be able to get an evaluation from a PT without a referral, and what you are describing sounds like it might well be an issue a physical therapist could help with.)

I am so sorry. I'm in the same boat with a specialist and it sucks.

You didn't ask for advice, so I hope I'm not overstepping, but I'd definitely encorage calling the office every week or so and asking if they have any new openings. I'm doing that and I got my appointment moved up a month, from January to December (which still sucks, but slightly less).

So i freaked out about a month ago and deleted any semi important stuff i had posted. Sorry. But im necroing the thread bc the appointment was finally today.
    And it was fucking bullshit.
He looked at the results of the bloodwork, looked over my hands to make sure they werent swollen, and poked my knees a little. Said i didn't have RA, which anyone back at the other place could have concluded too. Said go to physical therapy, even though ive been doing the at home exercises for months now and they dont help. Said it seemed like a stress injury, even though i do very little and it usually feels better if i get up and walk around a little. Basically, either he doesnt know what he was doing or blew me off bc im young, and im back to not knowing what to do next
I kind of want to die. It would be better than dealing with this pain every day and struggling to sleep bc of it. I also probably cant handle a job like this bc being on my feet 8 hours a day seems like a quick way to destroy me,

I didn't see any of the previous information. If you feel like answering, I have a few questions. If not, that's cool too.

    Are you fairly sedentary?
Is it just one knee, or both knees, or multiple joints?
Does it feel worse after you sit or lie in the same position for a while?

@Verily Hey, thanks for answering, and again, sorry i deleted things :p
1- yes, but this was a thing even when i was in school and doing gym everyday plus taekwondo 2-3 days
2- left knee and hip, sometimes also the ankle
3- not reeeallly? I do try and adjust position to lessen the pain, but it doesnt do much. Sometimes getting up and walking around helps a little

You don't have to apologize for deleting things. It's your leg, and your stuff.

It doesn't seem to fit what I had, but I'll describe it anyway just in case.

I was sick and spent a lot of time in bed for a few months, and my knees started hurting. It hurt most if I'd been still a while and less when I'd been walking. I was terrified I had arthritis except I was so young, or maybe I'd injured myself.

It turned out I just wasn't using the joints enough, which can make them become stiff and hurt a lot. My doctor said he saw that in young people who got desk jobs for the first time, and it tended to affect knees and hips the most. Trying to stay off it was making it worse.

Really sorry about your leg. That can be scary as hell.

@Verily Hm yeah, that doesnt fit very well, especially since recently for awhile i was tyring to do PT excercises every night and it made no difference as far as i could tell. Thanks for telling me about it though! Tbh that was more helpful and nicer than the guy i saw tuesday :p

physical therapy might be helpful because the physical therapist is another person who can assess your leg. im not 100% sure on if physical therapists are certified to diagnose things but one might be way more helpful than the doctor you saw, because you'd be working with the PT one on one and be able to show them what hurts when?

I already tried some PT excercises, as mentioned above.
But yeah, i think going back to the first guy i saw(who is way nicer and also much more accessible) and getting a referral to an actual physical therapist, since before when i got the excercises someone just came in and showed me them and gave me a sheet of the excercises to do at home. The first guy did actually like, move my legs around and saw what hurt though.
Im not really sure what ill do about actually getting there more than a few times though, since scheduling anything right now is uh, hard. I dont drive and like out in the middle of nowhere, and my mom(who is my only transportation) is stuck with frankly ridiculous work hours right now.
