I heard just a couple hours ago that Bernie's running for president in 2016! I'm pretty darn excited. His stances on a lot of things nearly match mine, and he has the voting record to back it up as more than just talking points. I'm a Vermonter so I have some local pride investment in this too. :D
At this point I have to check and see if I registered myself as a democrat so I can vote in the primaries. I'm a little worried that he's not "moderate" enough but if he has to run against Ted-fucking-Cruz then he should have a chance. Maybe he'd have a chance against Jeb Bush just because of George W. making their family name a laughingstock. I am trying to use my conservative republican relatives as a barometer and one of them hates the very idea of another Bush vs Clinton election because he hates both of them. While another is practically shipping with Ted Cruz (which is kinda weird that she's THAT conservative when she's a trans woman that by all means would represent everything the conservative party would hate, minus being gay or non-white. But well... human diversity is strange but really cool sometimes.)
