AND WEIRDLY YOUNG AND HOT AUNT MAY EW NO, NO NO NO! NO. TONY LIKES TO WATCH THE LITTLE ON HOLD LIGHT. YOU ASSHOLE. BLACK PANTHER MOST AWESOME INTRO EVER. GIVE ME ALL THE MOVIES WITH THIS GUY. YES HE FINALLY GAVE YOU A KISS BLONDE LADY, THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR BEING COY, JUST STRAIGHT OUT GO FOR IT IF YOU WANT IT, GET WITH THE PROGRAM. "Dr Pym warned me never to trust a Stark." "Who are you?" "C'mon, man..." Pose As Two Opposing Teams, because Shit Just Got Real! The Leader! The Best Black Friend! The Plot-Relevant Guy! The Powerhouse! The Returning Favourite! The enthusiastic Newbie! And FIGHT! ...given how many of the things they call out are directly Tony Stark's fault, they should really just detain *him* and see if that helps. I had fun inserting "...we couldn't get her actress back. I'm so sorry." re: both Peggy and Pepper. Also, "and have you heard of her spinoff series, available on Netflix?" at the funeral, and "have you heard of the spinoff Agents of SHIELD series? I'm in it, you know!" from Coulson at the end. Also, feel free to replace the bad guy's motivation with "I was just so tired of all these Tony/Steve fics. I wanted to sink the ship, FOREVER."
I had mostly your exact reactions, except also: Sam fucking Wilson!!! And Tony and Rhodey, uuuuuuugh I want all the shipfic for them (this is not a new need but it has been exacerbated). I missed Pepper, though, and wished they could have spent more time on Steve's grief for Peggy, bc I felt like it was probably a huge factor in his overprotective reaction to Bucky. I thought the Steve/Sharon kiss was kind of out of place, though. And I felt bad for Tony and I get his side, but I am still totally Team Cap. Even though I feel like they could have played up the moral ambiguity some more. Did you hear what Sharon actually said after Steve kissed her? My theater was laughing and whooping and I missed it.
...I could go on and on forever. Great movie; will be seeing it a 3rd time, BUT when's Cap 3 coming out? I was never a Tony Stark fan and this film did zilch to make me change my mind. Stucky (I personally prefer WinterShield because I have zero interest in pre-Winter Soldier era) was my OTP. After CW? IT STILL IS! YES! But, oh, but OT3: WinterShieldFalcon! Also I suddenly really low-key want to read a metric ton of T'Challa/Bucky.
SO GOOD Except the part where Steve kissed Sharon. I didn't have a problem with it, mind you. But the Tumblrinas behind me actively shouting "Noooooooooo!" and then whining about "Team Stucky" for the rest of the gogdamn movie were incredibly annoying. I fucking loved the Proud Bucky and Actual "Wing"man Sam nodding approvingly from the car. Give me RussianWinter or give me death. Age of Ultron and Black Widow's bullshit love plot didn't happen.
