So last year my toilet turned out to have a slow leak which damaged the guy down stairs ceiling. I got a plumber in, the toilet was fixed, my insurance paid for the damage. The guy is now claiming my toilet is leaking again. There is no leak. My question is -- if the problem is the pipes - whose responsibility is it? mine or the hoa? the hoa bylaws makes it sound as if it is there responsibility unless the pipe only services my bathroom but I'm not sure? I just know I can't afford another thing that would involve ripping out the floor or anything else to fix deeper plumbing issues.
turns out (at least for right now) all the drama and the property manager being an ass and everything else? was for a tiny water spot. Hoa pres couldn't see anything leaking down from the access hatch, made the guy draw a circle around the spot to see if its actually spreading or if it's just random water spot. You know not his ceiling caving in or literal dripping water from his ceiling. I would laugh if I wasn't still recovering from the full blown panic attack thinking my bathroom was going to need to be ripped or something.
