Ha, so since I was 18 I had a bit of a HUGE crush on Peter Lorre, an actor from a lot of 1940's thrillers and some horror movies, so...

  16. BPD anon

BPD anon Here I sit, broken hearted

So there's nothing interesting about my desktop but I do want to show you guys my tabs! There are a lot!

    tab shit.png

Explanation, since there is a good reason for each one. I tried to keep one of each variety of free time tab open, but it didn't really work out. With a couple of exceptions, each one has a different reason for existing.

It should be noted that I hate losing my place in something I'm reading. If I were to, say, close a fanfiction tab when I didn't want to read it anymore for the time being and then open it up when I wanted to continue, it would be a giant spoon draining headache. I'm not too happy about bookmarking stuff in the middle of it either. With YouTube channels, I have the "uploads" page open with "more videos" clicked as many times as needed and I open the videos in a new tab.

    1. Dangan Ronpa lets play mirror from Onenronen's on Something Awful. I wanted to read this ever since it first became popular, but every time I tried, somewhere a few pages in I would get really behind on all my obligations and go "alright, I'm closing ALL my distraction tabs!" Since I've now recognized that strategy doesn't work, I'm finally going to read through the whole thing.
    2. Beautiful Dead from the Dangan Ronpa soundtrack. The links to this song don't work in the LP so I brought it up on YouTube for when I'm reading DR and the song comes up.
    3. Luka's old blog vastderp-placeholder. I'm reading through it and learning a lot! Also it is so nice to be able to read through somebody's Tumblr and not have that Tumblr update all the time. I can do it at my own pace, as opposed to the other Tumblrs I've read through and had to focus almost exclusively on because otherwise I would have to click through pages of posts that I had already seen.
    4. Let's Be Outcasts by CurlicueCal. A rec from Luka's blog (actually the first in the series was the rec, but I continued on to this one). These days when I see a rec, I mark it for later, but this was before I realized I should do that or else get swamped with fanfiction tabs.
    5. Monster Pulse, a webcomic I'm archive binging. I was going to just binge one webcomic at a time and this was going to be my current one. Stuff happened so now there are four webcomic tabs open :P.
    6. Harry Potter Becomes a Communist. It's a hilarious badfic. I need a hilarious badfic tab for when I'm in the mood for hilarious badfic, yes?
    7. With Gods Who Wait by Roach. It's the last in the Hemostuck series. I figured I needed a tab up to read through fic by Jesse, Luka, and Roach.
    8. The Hemostuck tumblr, for reading when I finish tab 7.
    9. Seebs's blog posts from Seebs.net. As with Luka's blog, I'm learning so much! I'm reading back to front and I'm still on the developer works articles, which shows I'm pretty slow at going through these tabs. Could it be because my attention is distributed between so many? Nonsense!
    10. The Order of the Stick. I decided to reread it when I joined a Dungeons and Dragons group, thus killing my "one webcomic tab only" idea. I had to, you see, to get cool ideas for my character!
    11. The Other Side of the Heart by InkScratches. A rec from Luka from before I started marking fic for later. I believe the rec was along the lines of "Ugh, Erisol fic mostly sucks. People saw how The Other Side of the Heart was a good fic and tried to duplicate that, but they didn't do it right."
    12. Chairman Jack: Emerge. It's a fanventure. I broke my webcomic rule again because I noted how similar the title of The Beginner's Guide to the End of the Universe sounded to the thread "A User's Guide to the Apocalypse." I wanted to read the whole fanventure before commenting on the similarity just in case The Beginner's Guide to the End of the Universe was in some way really shitty and not good to mention. I succeeded and now I'm reading the sequel.
    13. Ashens, a YouTube channel. I watch his videos when I'm tired to rebuild spoons. They're pleasant when I'm tired but I can't focus on them when I'm alert. I watched them all a few years ago and now I'm rewatching them.
    14. A thread I made on Bluelight forums about researching drugs for a story. It's up so I won't forget about it when I need to actually do that research.
    15. Carparts.com. I'm trying to learn how cars work by reading through their articles since I'm saving up for a car.
    16. Wikipedia article on car trunks. I'm going through the article on each car part to learn more about how cars work.
    17. SCP foundation. After my current writing project, I want to try to write an SCP since I've heard they give lots of tough feedback, which is just what I need. I'm reading through all the SCPs to get a better idea for what I need to do.
    18. Prince Unicorn by ZeeCatfish. I'm about to write a Dave/Eridan fic so I've been reading through a list of Dave/Eridan recs to see how other people do it. This is the last one. I read through this tab faster than the others because writing is a priority. Once my fic is written, tab 17 will become the "fast tab."
    19. Silence is Golden by wittyy_name. Another fast tab. As well as Dave/Eridan fics, I'm reading high school AUs since that's what I'm going to be writing and I don't really know the tropes and cliches of the genre yet.
    20. Motherfucking Perspicacity by Meowgon. I'm treating CAA's hatred as an immediate fic rec, no mark for laters. >: D
    21. Lurknomoar's response to my anonymous question about artists in dictatorships and revolutions. Like the drug tab, I have it up so I won't forget when I need to research it for a story.
    22. The End of the Stairs by AceyEnn. I want to read through the fic of Kintsugi members. After I'm done with Acey's I want to start offering critique to the "Fanfiction workshop" thread. : D
    23. Hillary Clinton at ontheissues.com. I'm educating myself for voting.
    24. Bernie Sanders at ontheissues.com. Same thing.
    25. Writing Excuses podcast. It's always good to improve one's writing skills!
    26. Jesse's high school AU bookmarks so I can read some good high school AUs and get better at writing them. by examining them.
    27. Bus Stop by indigostohelit. It's the sequel to one of the fics in tab 26.
    28. Boat trolls! I want to be caught up so I can join all the discussion and read the threads on Kintsugi. : D
    29. Wikipedia article on the history of film. It's interesting. I'm probably going to finish and close this tab soon since it's just one article.
    30. Wikipedia article on 1890 in film. So many film references fly by me and I feel like I haven't seen enough movies. So a couple of days ago I figured I'd go through each year since the first ever films and watch the most important/interesting/popular ones.
    31. The Great War YouTube channel. It's a YouTube channel that posts two videos a week talking about what happened exactly 100 years ago in WWI! Isn't that awesome! WWI in real time! I've always wanted to learn about WWI since it seems like a big fascinating clusterfuck, and here's my chance to do it in a fun way. I just found out about this a couple days ago so I haven't started it yet.
    32. Phoebe and her Unicorn. It's a webcomic Seebs recced in the CAA thread. I started reading it immediately because Seebs.
    33. Google results for "mechanical turk." Might be a good way to make money since I'm still looking for a real job?
    34. Crowdsource. Might be a good way to make money since I'm still looking for a real job?
    35. Oops, extra tab that I forgot to close. Closed now. See, I can close tabs!
    36. A big list of articles on writing.
    37. A YouTube channel I just discovered like an hour ago by this guy who dumpster dives and talks about it. Sounds interesting.
    38. Kintsugi! Besides the more permanent tabs, I generally have a tab up for messing around on Kintsugi or Tumbr or Reddit. I spend most of my time on Kintsugi, another reason why it takes so long to read through stuff.

Sometimes I like to hike along the railroad tracks where there's no internet, find a nice place to sit down, and read the next chapter on each of my tabs that I don't need active internet for.
