For the uninitiated Lufia is a series of jrpgs spread across several Nintendo consoles. They all deal with the world of Estopolis whose gods, the Sinistrals, are evil. They are Terror, Death, Destruction, and Chaos and they rule from their floating castle the Fortress of Doom. Humanity is at their mercy and honestly we seem to be pretty fucked. Except we never are because we always have a red haired man and his blue haired lover come to the rescue. The blue haired lover is often the Sinistral of Death Erim. It's a series of very uneven quality. The first game was your standard snes rpg. It's not amazing in any regard really save some nice music. The second is probably the best and introduced puzzles to the series. The third is...questionable dungeon wise? But has lovely combat and it took the story nice places where Erim is concerned. we do not speak of the gaiden game on the gba And then there's the remake of the second game Curse of the Sinistrals. Which is a surprisingly decent action rpg on the DS. It's not great by any means but it's fun and that's what counts really. Also it managed not to piss me off despite ending changes.
