I know we have a vent thread for executive functioning bullshit, but I thought having a thread for sharing coping mechanisms and such would be useful! :D

Right now, in addition to Habitica (which has its own thread), I've been using Evernote a lot. It's sort of like Google Drive (more on that later), but more focused on planning and such. One of my favorite features is that you can make tables (including tables within tables!) and even add checkable box thingies, so you can check shit off. You can also create "notebooks" (folders), and tag items within them.

Here's an example of one of the things I use it for: planning cosplays!

As you can see, the notebook/folder and tags are at the top, followed by the doc title and then the doc itself.

It's in the Cosplays notebook, and is tagged according to a personal system--con I'm making it for (Fanime 2016), series it's from (Steven Universe), and character (Amethyst).

I used a 2x2 table as the base of sorts, and inserted various other tables as needed.

Items I need to purchase are checked off as I acquire them, and if I find a site that sells an item I'll need, I'll include a link. I do something similar with the stuff I need to make, checking things off as I go.

I also use it to make segmented to-do lists. I personally find it more useful than Habitica for this, but YMMV.

2x3 table, with each basic type of task sectioned off.

I use Google Drive a fair bit for organizing dates, specifically in spreadsheet form. For instance, here's an ever-growing list of my friends' birthdays, organized by month.

Anyway, those are my main methods of keeping organized and on-task, and not forgetting things. How 'bout you?

Evernote is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for to keep track of what I'm actually accomplishing with my more formal projects too, so props for that!

Thanks! I can't quite say the idea was entirely my own--I found a post someone made about using it to plan cosplays, and thought "wow that's a good idea!"--but I'm really finding it helpful. :D
