yes you do have one, don't lie. that brand you privately think is 'just better' than the others. mine is Aquafina!!! it tastes better than other brands because it is almost sweet. i buy like 5L at a time.
This seems to be unusual but I actually don´t buy bottled water unless I´m stuck outside and thirsty. I just use tap water.
unfortunately the tap water in my apartment tastes...... Not Good. so i have become a bottled water junkie. they double as cat toys because steve thinks that bottles are shaped like enemies >:3c
In my place only the hot water is odd, the cold is fine. But I will take notes on this thread for when I´m stuck outside. (Also your cat is cute)
I also usually use tap water, but tend to pick up SmartWater when it's available, because while it's overpriced and pretentious, it's cloud-distilled rather than harvested from somewhere where it means jacking up the local utilities. <- genuinely no shaming here, since conspicuously ethical consumerism doesn't actually address the things the companies are doing the way organized protest does, I just feel better about it When we were in the apartment with the manganese-poisoned water or in Russia with the giardia-poisoned water, we mostly used those Brita filters? It also meant less recycling, which was great because the recycling bin was tiny and we weren't allowed to get a bigger one.
Whatever brand is the cheapest one with a sippy top at that particular convenience store :} (usually I just fill up a reusable bottle because although our tap water isn't the best, at least it isn't actively trying to kill you. But sometimes I a) forget to fill up the bottle, b) forget to bring the filled-up bottle, or c) forget to let the bottle air out between uses and end up having to scrub out a gross bottle)
Evian. Somehow it is more weighty-feeling than other waters and I have absolutely no known reason for that. I mostly drink tapwater if I live somewhere the tapwater isn't nasty, though. Seattle tapwater is pretty decent.
i like those ones with the blue plastic bottles best, can't think of the brand. fake edit: googled it, it's deja blue. i like the feel of the bubbly parts of the plastic and the water just tastes better to me. i'm not actually all that picky though, i'll just drink whatever (except unfiltered tap in my area, about half a week of that has me very sick).
I have spent the past three weekends at my parents' cabins cleaning them out. The water isn't potable there anymore. So I have been buying gallon bottles of "grocery store brand" water. Tastes fine.
dasani is mines. we have the filtered water thing in our fridge but the bottles are more convenient for taking outside and i guess i hate the environment a lot. the tap water in vegas was undrinkable and i'm kinda really spoiled and i just... i can't do it. my water must be filtered and fridge-cold.
i try to refill my water from the filter pitcher in the fridge instead of getting a new one when i remember to, and i had a bobble a while back that was fuckin miraculous. that shit is crazy. you just put in regular old tap and it comes out the freshest tasting water you've ever had. the only problem with the bobble though is you gotta get a new filter every 5-6 months (averaging from my own use) because i have no idea how you'd clean that thing.
I basically think all bottled water tastes like the bottle. Fortunately, I live in a decent place for tap water.
Same. My house isn't on city water, we have a well. I have a hard time drinking tap water anywhere else though because I've gotten used to the taste of our water and everything else tastes weird. Bottled water is okay, but I don't have a particular favourite because I don't drink it much.
The tapwater in the Helsinki metro area is fantastic, so there's no point in drinking bottled on the regular. If I do get bottled, I go for something fizzy and flavored but unsweetened - I think the usual brand is Bon Aqua? It's been a while since I've bought any. It comes in a bunch of flavors - the usual citrus, but also a handful of others. It looks like this year they're offering raspberry, strawberry-kiwi, blueberry, and peach.
i would love to be able to drink tapwater..... but honestly i'm one of those people who gag at water that isn't ice cold. for some reason tapwater tastes alright if it's ice cold but if it's even slightly lukewarm it makes me wanna die. bottled water doesn't trigger the same oh-god-oh-god-what-is-this-horrible-liquid response! there has been one exception, which was the water from one specific sink in my dorm suite in university, which was always FREEZING cold in the morning. which was ideal for a bunch of hungover 19 year olds with morning classes. at some point one of us said, mid-hangover, "oh my god, this water is always so good. it's like drinking from god's pond," and that was what that tap was called from then on.
I really prefer ice water too, but the water here is good enough that it doesn't bug me not to drink it ice cold. I was genuinely surprised when I moved here - I'd lived in places with okay water and places with water that was basically undrinkable without being filtered (looking at you, Milpitas), but this stuff is actually good. It's also apparently made my digestive system a delicate princess, because when I visited family a few years ago in Maryland I got very sick from their okay-tasting, filtered tap water. :') I had to drink bottled for my stay.
Nope! Water from different areas will have different mineral content, which affects the taste. And then water from some areas is heavy in chlorine and/or polluted so it tastes absolutely nasty.
