I didn't see a post about this and didn't know if anyone else played and would want to talk about it. I'm really disappointed. I had a beautiful pairing between two parents and a nest of four. All four hatched with the ugliest bright red color combos. Genetics are so disappointing sometimes. Mom: Dad: Spoiler: Babies below the cut * This one was so bad I bought a Tri-Color scroll and used it on him.
Ohhh, disapointing nests can be the worst, especially between higher rarity dergs who won't breed for a while. I'm Arxon, #23720, and I have too many dragons someone help please
siveambrai #64246 and yea I was hoping for at least a little variety. But all the same ugly is tough to deal with.
Cursing my lack of lair space-- that Carmine/shadow Imp is gorgeous! (What would I even do with it, though?) Not gonna post my username here, since it's the same as my tumblr and I don't want this acc connected to that, but I do play. Ice flight!
please take these coatls Or - yes I play FR, I have a coatl problem, there are four xyy triples in my baby pile that just turned adult, PLEASE give them good homes.
Ohhh those are cute coatls but -looks at lair, looks at two impulse coatl couples I got within last couple days, looks at stores of seafood-...I'm sorry.
I'm with Anon19 - not posting my username since it is the same as my tumblr url, but I definitely sympathize re: disappointing nests. Of your babies, the second one is actually an XYX, and the Carmine/Shadow one ain't too bad a combo either, but they would definitely look better if they had inherited any of their father's genes/weren't basic/basic/basic. (just looked in Scrying Workshop and Carmine is actually very pretty for Crystal.)
I had not even noticed that the Scrying Workshop was now a thing. And wow yes it does look good. Hmmm may need to save up.
ReAllyssa, #134664 Do you guys have any advice on pricing dragons? I know anything below 10k is exalt fodder (adults, 8k for babies), and that some genes are more rare than others, and that XXY colors are popular in general. Some people have said to look at the action house to get a feel for how that breed/gender/gene combo is doing, but I'm still pretty confused. I get the feeling that based on some of what I've read some of my dragons should be worth more, but I'm not sure how much to up the price based on a given feature? =( I'm so not used to how the economy on this game works.
@Re Allyssa it all depends on profit v patience/food stores. If you price your dragons higher they might take a long time to sell, but you'll get more monies. Right now most breeds and genes are going to be equal- mostly only new things can get an automatic price boost. Things like xyy or xxy or what have you CAN sell for more, but in general people tend to buy the cheapest dragons they can, tbh. I guess popular/unpopular genes will effect with they sell at ALL- clown, eyespots, freckle, and speckle are genes I know to be fairly unpopular. Those will be much more likely to sell at exalt. Advertising can get you more buyers, but it's never worked for me tbh. My advice would be to try selling in the 25k-40k range for a while, and if absolutely nothing sells at that range drop it lower? IDK, I mostly sell everything at exalt prices/in gems, and make up for low profits buy breeding a fuckton of dragons.
What I usually do when I'm not sure about pricing is look up dragons with the same breed/gene combo in the auction house, then price around where the lowest seem to be going for (though staying above 10k if I don't want them to go for exalt fodder.) Oh, also, I'm vegacoyote there too.
I agree with @Arxon - a lot of it's about patience. Adults will pretty much always sell at 10-12k; pricing your dragons higher will result in higher profits, but with a longer average wait time before they sell. The only genes that let you comfortably up your dragon price by a lot are new genes, and that effect only lasts for a limited time. I've found some use in advertising, myself, but also a great deal of bumping my thread for seemingly no reward. I do know that if you can acquire some very pretty breeding pairs, it can be easier to get people to fork over a ton of treasure for the hatchlings, but how to actually make that happen is kind of a mystery for me.
sorry if this is a little late/out of the blue- i'm karkata #71934 on FR i've hit a run of bad luck wrt selling dragons, but that's mostly because i try to sell dragons for gems primarily and the AH prices keep going down and after a certain point it just seems like a better idea to train and exalt them for treasure myself
