heyo! you can call me Eso, or maybe Alex or Alexander. (still trying those names out, subject to change.) they/them or he/him pronouns, thanks! I'm currently a student at boarding school, which I very much enjoy when I am capable of enjoying things. I'm very curious and I love to agglutinate random knowledge. (middle school Academic Quiz Bowl champion hell yeah.) my particular areas of academic interest include linguistics, prose and poetry analysis, select historical topics, chemistry and biology, and psychology. other interests of mine include writing (fiction, poetry, scripts, Opinions articles), reading, singing (five hours a week as an alto in my school's choir and lessons in Broadway and classical), theatre (teching, directing, and maaaybe acting), and liking a hell of a lot of things. a few of my current faves are Homestuck, Gravity Falls, Sense8, Stardew Valley, and many many books, although I do tend to cycle through interests. (past ones: FMA, Hetalia, How to Train Your Dragon, the Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld.) I think I want to be a psychiatrist when I grow up. as far as potential topics of discussion on Kintsugi specifically go, I've got depression, anxiety (social and generalized), and gender shit out the wazoo. also (according to the Mighty All-Knowing Seebs) maybe ADHD and autism. basically I'm a walking bundle of insecurities. but stuff has been looking up in my life lately and hopefully I can cheer some folks up with my successes! I'm here because a) I wanna meet cool people, b) it's rude for me to keep dumping all my problems on my friends and/or Seebs, and c) I possess what I am informed is an excess of empathy and would quite like to help other people out. so! that's me. what about you all?
well, "read," but yeah. and tbh I'm kinda disappointed—I mean, it was beautiful animation and all, but I keep thinking of all the things that were left dangling and sadfacing. it just didn't have the attention to prolific detail that I've come to expect from Homestuck. I'm not crushed about it or anything, though, and I think in the time frame it had it handled events quite well.
I read it through Pretties, I think? but definitely not with the same obsessive attention to detail that I did the Leviathan books. man was I obsessed. 75k worth of fanfic.net fic obsessed. also I had a crush on Deryn, but I think everyone who reads those books does, so.
