Hey there! I got referred to this place by an associate who I think has already departed, and I'm still prodding about trying to figure out what this place is about. I'm not from tumblr, so it might take me a bit to get used to the terminology being flung around here. I've been flummoxed already by a few phrasings and such. By the way, this site runs impressively well even on my ratty old computer. Whoever got this set up is running a dream of coding.
hi/welcome! to address concerns- I know there are a few people on here at least who aren't on tumblr or aren't on tumblr anymore, so it's cool, this isn't a tumblr only place or something. for that matter, a fair amount of people here are refreshingly blunt (whereas I, of course, am still horrifically passive aggressive haha) and if you are confused about what something means, definitely ask! I don't think I've seen anyone get yelled at for not knowing a word (also, I basically assume that @seebs sacrificed a cow or something for this site)
I have also seen cases of "see word"/"quote word"/hey what is this before, so it would probably be ok actually, asking on skype would probably duck your "oh I don't want to clutter up thread" feels, are you added yet? I saw request on skype thread
Yo! As noted upthread, this is a very different community from tumblr, so. A huge portion of us are disgusted at tumblrisms and that particular brand of social-justice-ing. As for the rest, we're pretty much all awkward social flops, you'll fit in fine.
