Hi, I'm a 21 year old gay guy who came here from tumblr because I heard this is a good place to talk about autism things. I like guinea pigs, minecraft, rpg games, and most bio ware rpgs. I'm hoping to start learning to code in java to one day make my own minecraft mods and I want to go to school to get an it job at some point in the future. I stress bake, and am trying to force myself to learn violin, though my only success has been breaking the string on my hand me down while trying to tune it.
I hate breaking strings, I used to tune my dad's guitar for funsies back when he had a supes old acoustic. I know there's both a pretty big minecraft community thread and a pretty big programming thread on here somewhere, though amusingly I'm involved in neither. also hi and welcome!
When I was like 13 tried to restring my old violin to turn it into a makeshift viola. For some reason I thought the most efficient way to do this would be to take off all the violin strings first, and the bridge fell off and tailpiece started flapping around. Very smart.
Its probably worth mentioning that the strings on that instrument are around ten years old at this point and haven't really been taken care of at all since my sister played it in high school. I have a few friends and my family that tell me how to do things like this, I have virtually no idea what i'm doing with this thing other than a few basic memories from playing cello a few times in orchestra, in middle school, more than...7? years ago.
Well it is basically cello, except slightly less forgiving in terms of interval tuning and not as hard on the hands. Good luck! You could check out the Make Some Noise thread in Make It So. Some people post about their musical exploits there.
GOD breaking strings is the worst. Mine is in storage right now but it definitely needs new strings. One of them I know broke when I was loosening them for long-term storage and the others are. old. and will prbably break as soon as I use it again.
