Hi, I'm Bel (and I only sort of stole the name from the boat trolls). I wasn't going to make this post but I told Wes that if they made one, I would. So. I don't really do many interesting and cool things like everyone else that's been posting. Mostly I read a lot and draw some stuff and pretend that I'm writing. I'm working on an actual story right now (I finally figured out I was trying to write the wrong part of the story, so it actually makes sense now). I've written a bunch of poetry (I have a few pieces here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EdV7PLMLaCWGbcUhija12EK6NhveOCp-KHkUU7jAViM/edit?usp=sharing ). Ooo tell me about the books you like and/or the story you're writing! (If you don't mind) =D I had that happen with a story of mine as well. I really wanted to write this one section, but instead the only thing I could write was this one character's backstory. I haven't touched it in a while, but when I do again, I'm probably gonna focus on her and let the story that wants to be written out. xD
I was trying to write the backstory, but eventually I realized that I actually needed to write what happened afterwards, so that's what I'm doing. Books I like (a very incomplete list): The Gentleman Bastards series, anything by Terry Pratchett, anything by Neal Stephenson, Worm, the Raven Boys series, I swear there's more but I'm in a library so I''m overwhelmed by books at the moment so I'll add to the list later I guess. The story I'm writing currently has two POVs. One is a boy who suddenly senses a presence that starts talking to him, but he's too freaked out by everything else that's been happening to deal with the fact that that means he's probably going insane. The other one is a boy who is going to beat up the gods even if it kills him - again. It probably sounds weird without the context I have.
i'm doing a story with bel that managed to have an entirely new set of main characters that grew from a flashback a minor character had. the former main characters are now side characters.
They're all pretty cool characters though. I'm having a lot of fun working with them and I'll probably post some stuff once I actually start drawing the thing.
I have not read enough Terry Prachett, by which I mean anything of his. xP I've been meaning to read Good Omens though.... I eventually want to start on Discworld but time Ahahaha no that sounds amazing. Those poor kids. xD Pffft yes good. I love it when that happens. "No you were supposed to be side characters, what are you doing??" I don't really do short stories very well, but I attempted one. I managed to get it to about ~4 pages. I was really excited that I managed to do something shortish! I showed it to my mom and she was like "Oh wow that's great!! When are you going to write the rest of it??" OTL I'm like "no mom that's all there is. all of those side characters are cardboard cut outs shhh this was meant to be short!" xD
then i ended up making alternate versions of those characters also i ship two characters in my own universe who will never get together ever in canon because no. (i should probably just post the character list or something)
The second one's internal monologue basically starts with "I'm going to beat up the gods. But like, in a chill way. Because I totally wasn't traumatized by dying." But more in denial.
