Hello Kintsugi, I am a person who got tricked by a friend into visiting this place, due to several reasons. How is everyone doing at present time? I hope to befriend at least 8 people here by the end of 2024, by 2240 I anticipate the world to end.
All of these have their roots in occult mumbo jumbo that I used to or still enjoy/ed in my adolescence.
Oooh, I cannot name any off the top of my head immediately. But I did like Homestuck back in 2013 (which you could say had a hand in me finding this place but that may be stretching it). I've enjoyed a lot of cartoons but as I grow older I'm getting more and more into live-action films. The Coen Brothers are my favourite film directors at present, I would say.
Did you hear that they were going to be directing a Netflix original western? I haven't seen a huge amount of their stuff but their True Grit remake was absolutely fantastic.
Most of their stuff is very dark in content and when it does not have like elements of black comedy (so far all the films I watched had something that made me laugh) it'll just have very weird and quirky stuff. Raising Arizona their second film is a comedy about kidnapping a baby, it's pretty silly and lowbrow. Nic Cage gets chased by a pack of dogs and a cashier boy with a shotgun while yodeling music is playing in the background. Anyways my personal recommendations are all the more comedic ones, The Big Lebowski is a good one to watch. There's also The Hudsucker Proxy. Fargo is very gruesome and weird but it has a lot of funny moments (the villain is a real bastard of a killing machine) and I think it's pretty sweet, I really liked the ending. Hail Caesar their newest film is very tame and not that dark, it's more quirky and eccentric than funny and some of the jokes rely on being a big old movie buff. It really depends on if you wanna see a film with dark content or humour in it, the darker ones I liked were Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink (which literally came out next year after MC) and A Serious Man. Regrettably I did not watch No Country for Old Men yet :( I only found about that recently actually! But yes, I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks for the suggestions!! I adore dark stuff, but I also love funny stuff. And I've been meaning to watch The Big Lebowski anyway...
