so me and my family are being booted from our charity housing in about two months or so, because the board in charge decided we can find a house now that my brother and mom have a source of income. it's also low key because my sister, one of my brothers, and i don't go to church anymore; although that's expected because "spiritual training" (i.e. going to church at least once a week) was part of the agreement that let us stay there in the first place. it's wonked but it is what it is so i'm leaving it alone. it turns out my brother's minimum wage job and my mom's slightly more than minimum wage but still really low pay job do not equal the average rent in the area. plus my mom has bad credit so even cramming ourselves into a dinky 3 bed 1 bath (there's five of us) isn't happening. AND we have a pitbull, and the owner of the one house we might get (if the guy finishes renovating it before we're booted) doesn't want to chance her "doing something". stereotypes, you know how it is. we've been looking farther out in the chance there might be something affordable, but my mom literally lives a block away from work right now and our car is crap so driving more frequently could be even more costly (repairs-wise) than the raised gas bill. we also don't want to go too far because my youngest brother would have to change schools, and my mom wants to stay close to my grandma since she has health problems and lives alone. there are still options, we could...give up of our dog and cram into a couple of one bedroom apartments somewhere, or try and find an even smaller house, or i could try to find a job again and go back to having panic attacks and sensory overload over stupid things like "a customer walked out of the store with a tag still on the shirt and it set off the alarm" or "constant drastic temperature change from frequently having to go in and out of a walk in freezer" or "why the fuck won't that phone stop ringing OH WAIT I'M SUPPOSED TO ANSWER THAT SHIT SHIT SHIT". anyways, just wanted to whine a bit, we'll figure it out.
how very christian of them sucks, man, and witnessed (i'm assuming your grandmother lives somewhere small enough that no one else could stay with her? because if one of you could stay with her, that'd be one less person to house + someone being able to help gran at the same time. plus maybe her place is ok with animals? idk.)
thanks, and yeah her apartment is super tiny + you have to pay extra for animals, and there's a size limit. only little dogs and cats are allowed. plus my grandma is... intense, to put it politely. if you don't do things her way exactly she gets really angry really fast.
i figured something like that was the case, since someone moving in with her seemed like an obvious solution that must have been discarded for a reason.
