   So I've taken a couple of classes in Java and Python and I think I might like to get into this as a possible career. But now what? I don't know enough yet to do any real work so how do I practice what I know and learn more?

   Okay, basically:
   
   1. Find things you want to do.
   2. Make them happen.
   
   If you play any games that allow modding (like, many MMOs have an Addon API for user mods), that can be a good starting place because it makes it much easier to Get Results You Want.
   
   Play around with multiple languages. My current favorites are go, ruby, and lua.
