So, at the end of July, one of my coworkers is moving to California. the pharmacist has told me that I will be getting most of her hours, but has also told me I have to be able to not get so obviously and visibly upset at work. Back in November, I got so upset I was making suicidal comments and got taken away by the police. I have to learn to control my emotions on pain of losing my job or being taken away by the police. I will take any advice you have. Self-coaching, stress management, therapist recommendations, drugs, fucking anything that might work. Please help.
Is going to a psychiatrist an option? PRNs (as you need for anxiety) are a fucking godsend. A general doctor might be able to prescribe them in a pinch. Also, you know, regular depression meds. I can help you look for a psych/therapist if you don't mind giving me the name of your insurance company and a zip code that is close to you. (PMing is fine too) I understand if you don't want to do that, but it's an option. Are your breaks scheduled or can you take them whenever you want within reason? Do you have personal time you can use? A few minutes to just listen to some music and play a tappy game (to keep your brain occupied) can do wonders for me. Do you know what kinds of things set you off? Knowing what sets you off/triggers you can help because then you can recognize them before hand and head off an attack once it starts. Or if you're like me, knowing why you're upset makes it a little more manageable. ... I've been assuming these are panic/anxiety attack like emotions. Is that right?
