Hi! I'm iff. I've been lurking here for a while, and this forum seems really nice and accepting, and I probably should socialize more than I do (which is very little), so here's an intro thread. So: I have social anxiety, and probably some other stuff (but definitely social anxiety. I have recently, thanks to modern medicine, acquired the ability to talk to cashiers without freaking tf out, and it's REALLY NICE. More complex interactions are a work in progress). I'm a college student (computer science), I like books (I love books, books are the best things), music, and podcasts (mostly non-fiction), and I draw things sometimes. Hello! Please enjoy this amazing dog picture. Spoiler: A Dog I'm sorry for all the parentheticals. Engineer writing, amirite? ...or maybe rarely-uses-words writing I feel like I should mention that it's moderately likely that I'll never post again, bc anxiety, but I hope that doesn't happen
a+ dog, well done on dog nice job on the whole talking to cashiers thing! I recently made an actual phone call to a business, so I'm still riding on that high
Hi! I'm having a "Have I actually ever read any books?????" kind of morning, but I'm currently reading Fool's Fate, and that and the whole Realm of the Elderlings series are probably my favorite books. I also like Neil Gaiman's writing a lot, especially American Gods and Anansi Boys, and Asimov's robot stories, which I haven't read in a while and I just remembered exist, but are great. Lately I've really liked Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, and The Goldfinch, and The Martian.
Hi yes she's a good dog. Thanks and also whoa! good job on the call, phone calls are terrible. Also I had to stop looking at this thread because I was getting too keyed up, so I know the feel :P
Hello yes I'm the master of the art of conversation, it is I. Also I love that pic so much. It's hilarious. I must share it. Also the doge. She's great.
Excellent dogge there! I've never read any Asimov books, but my parents had some of his short story collections (or maybe short story collections that he had put together?) and I loved them.
yes the dogge's p good. Same! (maybe?) My parents have a lot of Asimov books and short stories (also just a lot of books), and that's how I read them. They're good! Someone put together a collection of all the stories set in the Foundation universe in internal chronological order from 1995AD to 1302 FE(=24954AD) and a) what a satisfying concept b) I really want to read the 20k pages of the thing
