i think lanque is an interesting character. he is everything that we require trans men to be. a perfect body, unproblematic. in a way, stereotypical. and though it is sad that he is such a transphobic character, nothing could be done about it. the community has a lot of unaddressed hatred for trans men in many ways. i think the irony level is very high, maybe this character came from a very bitter, jaded (lol) person. "is this what you want" they sarcastically ask, as they give us lanque. it's interesting that he is the way he is on alternia. the pressures on trans men to be the way lanque is seem very earth based. i guess we can say that social media is similar. i can really understand someone like lanque, and i'm struggling to explain why. it's like he's snapped. instead of like us on earth, trying to fight the idea that we can be chubby and flawed, there's nothing there to stop it on alternia. he reached the full potential of something under intense pressure. it's funny that he's not human, because i would describe the pressure as inhuman. i'm slowly working on this idea, and i hope other people can sort of reach into my brain and help me understand what i'm trying to say.
