Tell me your bias(s), your bias wreakers, which groups you currently stan! Any concerts? Lightsticks? Fav. M/V or dance practice vids? Link em here! Are you confused by the group known as BTS? Big hint, that does not stand for behind the scenes like it usually does. LETS TALK K-POP!
I currently stan Bigbang and AKMU. I also like listening 2ne1 (even though they disbanded) and K.A.R.D and BlackPink. Im trying to get into the Baby Bangs i.e. WINNER and iKon. So far, i prefer iKon's sound and visuals. Winner is... too slow for me. My bias' are Daesung and T.O.P. i love love love Daesung, his voice is so powerful and hes got an amazing range. The japanese call him YABAI which means dangerous and he has got the hip thrust to prove it . I love T.O.P. simply because he is an alien. I mean... someone compared him to Spock and now i cant unsee it... but his raps are amazing as well and he has got such a deep voice (i am a sucker for bass voices *swoon*). I ship 'em too, i dont care if its a romance or a bromance, i ship whatever the hell is going on between the two of them. AKMU are fucking adorable and beautiful and you can not tell me otherwise. Havent gone to any concerts yet but G-Dragon is coming to San Jose for I.L.L M.O.T.T.E., so fingers crossed?
I do not know much about K-pop, but I like what little I've heard, especially 2ne1. Any suggestions for a sort of starting point for getting more familiar with the genre?
I literally dived in headfirst by listening to all the music or watching the videos XD. What songs have you heard from 2ne1? Their earlier stuff or the newer stuff they came out with before they disbanded?
Oh hey, a K-pop thread! I've listened to K-pop since I was like, fourteen and my grandmother bought me a BoA CD for my birthday, which led to me looking up her songs on Youtube, which got me into Baby V.O.X (which is how I got into K-drama - 'cause Yoon Eun Hye) but I never really got into the fandom, and I didn't listen to K-pop regularly until a couple of years ago when I discovered GOT7 and BTS. They're still my favourites, but I'll go for pretty much anything involving a catchy beat and cool choreography. AKMU's great! I like their songs and their videos are so fun. 200% was the first one I saw and it's still my favourite.
Im not really into the fandom that much either, too many fanwars xp i just watch a lot of the music videos and some of the interviews and fancams when i find decent ones. AKMU!!!! i love AKMU, my song by them has to be Re-Bye
I just posted those videos on here lol XD i like a lot more of their older stuff myself. They sounded way different (to me at least) when Bom left. Their last music video before they disbanded made me almost want to cry though... its called goodbye, of all things.
Haha, the fanwars totally scared me off. I made an account on some K-pop fanboard and then never posted anything because of the fighting. I mean, I think some of it was joking, but it was alarming anyway. And I'm a completely indiscriminate consumer of music noises, which would have made me a major traitor or something. Re-Bye is great! I had it on repeat for a few days a while ago ... and of course the video concept is fun as always. And it has Lee Sung Kyung in it! I watched a drama with her in it a while ago and I kind of love her. What else is fun ... mashups! I have a list somewhere, here's a few I liked a lot:
I just watched this vid, and honest to heaven, this girl sounds exactly like K.A.R.D. This is supposed to be her debut 0.o
I have not yet posted this song by iKon and that is a tragedy because i def like this one better than bling bling and as i mentioned at least twice (insert sollux yeaaaaaah emoji here), this song AND video are all about bees!!! I want my patron trolls set to this song orz. Behold Bday:
Also its been bad news in VIP-land (aka BigBang drama) so i have been watching this vid on repeat to cheer myself up. Theyre talking about how each member gets drunk and its soo damn funny. To get captions, click CC and press korean, the captions will show up as english, trust me.
Recommened kpop listening because im on mobile and i cant be arsed to switch betwee apps rn: Minzy (of 2ne1 fame, left yg and joined another company and FINALLY got her damn solo album)- Superwoman and NINANO. Ive been putting superwoman on repeat btw. One- Heyahe and Getting by. Just released the first one last night, the other one idr when... both are good songs though Rare Potato- that is the actaul name of the group and ive only listened to one song, a ballad, but i love their name.... I almost forgot, Boys Generally Asian (aka a joke nigahiga took too far)- dong saya dae and whos it gonna be G-dragon- Bullshit, Middle Fingers Up, Superstar... the entire kwon jiyoung album for brevitys sake Theres more but i got work...
Rare Potato Tw for potatoes... lots of potatoes This one is the first song i heard from them, though i watched a vid of them singing it live. And their yt page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7ZUc1M1XbFnLPhhuKfs_dw This next one is very soothing, Dream in a Dream by Ten who is a member of the group NCT 127. This is his single and its very colorful, tw if changing colors bother you Borders by Amber- tw for allusions to depression, suicide and maybe anorexia if i understood the vid right. Its actually a very empowering song and its entirely in english
This song is totally my theme song now For a good laugh, please watch the best kpop parody that kpop fans took seriously: And the sequel which makes fun of kdramas:
