Reeeaaaally depends on the hospital. I had a friend who was allowed to use her phone in the hospital she was in in a state near my state. The hospitals I've been in which include PA and WA have not allowed me to have my phone. Usually the policy with electronics is -- if there's a chord, you have to check it in/out. If there's a camera on the electronic, no go.

As for rooming with roomies generally when you're first admitted you get your own space. Once you've been there for a while they might move you to a 2br or move a roomie in. If it's too much, self-advocate and tell them straight up you can't room with someone. Most places will accommodate. If this is a voluntary unit, they have to listen to your needs because you aren't being kept against your own free will.

I was allowed to have my giant stuffed shark with me in the hospital recently. What else... umm.. pack extra clothes especially underwear and socks. If you have house slippers bring those... uhhhh good luck? Any other questions feel free to contact me directly in PM or something or in this thread.

Yeah it depends on the place. None of the places I have been allowed electronics, but they did let my parents bring me books. I don't know about stuffed animals though. As long as they have no buttons/pieces that come off or strings they would likely be okay? I am not sure.

Also clothes dear god bring clothes. Nothing with strings tho! They will either require they be cut off or won't let you use them. Anything that could he construed as dangerous will not be allowed in.
