how do images get moderated on kintsugi? specifically images being privately shared between users? is it only if someone in the chain reports them? is there a storage limit on number or size of images? (if the answer is "can't give you deets gotta keep the traders on their toes" I completely understand but I know moderation here is surprisingly hands-off *and* surprisingly transparent, so I figured I have better odds here than in most places.)
I don't know about embedded images (and I'm not a mod :P) but from experience trying to do art trades through PMs, you can't upload images to them at all. All images in PMs have to be externally hosted. I don't know how/what moderation happens to PMs, but unless embedded images eat up kintsu storage, the size of them shouldn't matter. (IIRC, the number of embedded images allowed in a post is 2o; I would be unsurprised if the PM limit was similar.)
oh, so you just can't. unless you did wizard fuckery, and if you're doing wizard fuckery kintsugi seems like an unintuitive target. I guess my big thing is "how does kintsugi handle people trying to transfer massive amounts of data"
There's a size limit on file uploads outside of PMs and there's attachment and embed limits per message, so presumably they'd have to do it pretty laboriously?
I think there's limits on file sizes, etc., but I honestly don't know exactly where they are or whether they apply to PMs.
There's definitely a file size limit, because I've hit it a few times when I forgot to scale down giant images.
Yeah, definitely a file size limit that large image files easily exceed. You can attach 10 images to a post if you upload them directly to Kintsugi and 20 if you embed them from abroad. I have specific experience with those limits and am very, very familiar with them. Although I 100% could not say what the size limit is because i never pay attention to it anymore, just close the popup in frustration and go resize the image. No idea about PMs because I rarely use them.
