Hi everyone! My Internet name is Pascaline and I'm a friend of @Stophelping (writing this while sitting right next to them). I'm 26, a preschool teacher at one of those fancy daycares where we teach one year olds math (I wish I was kidding) and mostly use the Internet for role playing and watching stuff and reading all the things.

I don't know how to use Tumblr so I don't (I tried, but it bored me after a day), and I'm not a gamer but I do love playing games if something catches my interest (Legend of Zelda is my favorite). I don't understand social media like Facebook or Twitter. I'm addicted to Imgur, Buzzfeed videos, and coffee.

Aside from role playing and reading I love to cook and bake. Last thing I baked were matcha blueberry muffins they were yummy.

I don't know what else to write here except it's nice to meet you guys and I look forward to talking with you on here.

Some of them actually are @blue they pick up math better than I do especially at that age because their minds are little sponges.

    EDIT: HIIII!

Hey, welcome aboard. It's great to have another friendly face here that isn't well-acquainted with Tumblr.

What kind of stuff do you roleplay?

@Acey Sure! I'm my phone right now but I'll PM some to you later. I really like stand up comedy, funny amvs and things like that. I also recently got into watching vines which can be really funny.

@Xavius Thanks! I tried it for a day but I couldn't get into it and I can't even explain why.

I live role playing original fantasy concepts, modern sci-fi fantasy is my weakness, but Fandom wise I have role played Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul, Gundam and more that I'm probably forgetting. I'm also a complete sucker for high school RPGS with a twist. What about you?

@Dist and @WithAnH Thanks for the welcome and hi to you too!

    @Pascaline Well, since you asked...!

I've never been much for fandom roleplay, but I've been part of Homestuck stuff in the past. My interests are pretty much the same with the fantasy dealio - integrating magic and high-end technology are one of the most surefire ways one can guarantee I'll be drawn in. It's a big reason that Homestuck originally attracted me so much, even though that's hardly the main point of the comic.

Also, most of those anime are totally unfamiliar to me! The names've come around once or twice, but I don't think I've given any of them more than a passing glance.

At any rate, it's great to have you here!

Because of your username, I have a mental image of you teaching 1-year-olds how to do a Pascal's triangle. It's pretty adorable.

I'm curious as to how you can teach math to kids that young. I know they understand more than they can communicate, but confirming that they understand seems like it would be hard. (Admittedly, this is partially influenced by my sister's tales of the 2-year-olds at her daycare.)

I'd read a Tales of a Toddler Teacher thread myself, just saying.

@budgie I said math as a loose term I think advanced counting is better. During structured play time and circle time we'll place objects and have them count them, then add/subtract items and show them the difference using fingers so by the time they are two they can add and subtract with their fingers.

Seriously it's all about repetition. Do something routinely for long enough and it should sink in and at that age they learn very fast. I will say that some will comprehend the concept much better than others at that age and some may never truly comprehend it but I think that's just life in general.

@Xavius Ahh I figured you liked anime because of your avatar. If you don't mind me suggesting, I recommend watching Bleach and reading Tokyo Ghoul. The latter is extremely graphic/violent but an amazing read, so if violence/gore/intense situations don't bother you I highly recommend it because it's some of the best story telling out there. Bleach is just good shounen fun if you prefer more humor and my favorite anime series.

Also I wouldn't mind starting one my kids are hilarious.
