Little Trotsky managed to escape sometime yesterday. He is a fat dumb neutered tom completely unfit for life outside. It has been raining on and off today, so if he's around, he's hiding under cover.

My kitty is missing and I am sad.

    Aw :c

My kitten recently escaped for four days, we just caught her Tuesday.

If you can, get a box, put something that smells like him or home in it. He should come back towards it hopefully. Also if there aren't many other animals in the neighborhood, a bit of his favorite food might help

If its a new neighborhood then yes, you need things that smell like you guys to help him figure out where home is cuz everything will be unfamiliar. One of those plastic totes/storage boxes might be a good idea to help keep the things from getting wet. We have a couple in our house with holes in the sides which are just big enough for kitties to get in.

Void's hitting most of my main points and I second them. Also, do you have sounds your kitty tends to respond to? Like kitty calls or can opening? I would attempt to go out once or twice a day and survey the area while making the sounds. Be sure to leave a bit of silence in there in case your kitty meows back so you can find him quicker. I would make one of those rounds in the late evening when there is less noise and things to scare your kitty.

Seconding sounds that Rorl is saying. Anything kitty might enjoy, go for it.

I'm pretty sure I've been tagged as the neighborhood kook for going up and down the streets and alleys calling "Trotsky, Trotsky!"

Hahaha probably. Also put up some posters with his pic and your number so if anyone spots him they can call you. Lost pet posters are a dang god send tbh, our neighbors used them to figure out that yes, the cat they saw in their yard was our missing kitten.

    It keeps raining!

On the one hand, I hope it keeps him safe by keeping him under cover. On the other hand, it prevents me from doing anything.

I´m glad he´s back. We lost Ty for several months once, I know how scary that is.

He probably didn't go more than about twenty feet. He's not much of an outdoor kitty.

Poor thing. He's gotta be happy to be home then!
