One of the people I follow on Tumblr is posting his suicidal thoughts. He does this every now and then but usually phrases it in a "im not going to actually do this" way but this was less ambiguous. I don't have the first clue where he lives. And also he's a black guy in the US so the likelihood of the cops making things worse if they WERE called is high anyway. I want to send him a message but I don't know what would make things better or worse. I keep freezing up.
figured I should at least update. He's still reblogging aesthetic things and stuff so I'm hoping that means he didn't try anything. I did send him an ask saying i was worried but he never replied to it. just hoping that it helped.
@Enzel It might be worth looking up the incidence of violent police response in the case of explicitly person-at-risk-of-harm-to-self related calls. There's definitely a huuuuuuuuuuuuge issue with the US police, but I also personally know people/families who are African-American, have had to make mental-illness related calls, and have had everything turn out fine. Area of the states has a huge impact on that though; my family home is in a really diverse town/city.
