Since I had to reset the tablet (and never wrote down my user ID) I'll be starting over in the next GodFest... Since thread necromancy and all, I'll post in here again if I get a pretty for my rare.
i got black valkyrie for my first rare, and i'm still using her. i've now got her up to ultimate evo: black-winged goddess valkyrie! i'm using her on the same team with law goddess valkyrie, along with red, green, and blue odins, all maxed out. red odin is my leader, for the 3x damage for god type. with an athena or rodin friendleader i can steamroll just about anything! but the things i can't do, i just plain can't do. a 9x multiplier is just not gonna cut it with those bosses that are like 'do 3 million damage in 3 turns or take a nuke to the face.' i am honestly not sure what to do about those. seebs swears by ronia but i don't have a good devil team.
btw, for anyone wondering wtf is with this game: it is basically POKEMON BUT WITH GODS. like have you ever wanted to collect the egyptian pantheon and make them fight a dracolich? of course you have! who hasn't? ps when will the rare machine give me that isis i've always wanted ;_; warning: zeus is FUGLY. and i'm pretty sure cu chulainn did not wear full plate armor but i'm learning about all kinds of fascinating chinese deities and heroes i never heard of before! who are these cuties? their names are da qiao and xiao qiao, which just means 'little qiao and big qiao'. they are sisters. they are adorable. they give 4x attack with 4+ combos. i am pretty sure that last bit wasn't in the myth. speaking of 'not in the myth'... nobody tell the PaD developers that noah was a grandpa. that is just too cute.
beware the temptation to spend money on gems. they do give you gems fairly frequently, and you can earn them by completing things, so just save them up and wait for godfests. note that a 'godfest' is not the same as a 'gala'; galas are bullshit, godfests are awesome. :D
On my second try I got a good drop from the REM... Hurray for God Fests! This is Nut from an Egyptian God series. Look how swirly and starry she is! *Edit But yeah, anyone just trying this out today. If you have the patience to do the tutorial a couple of times? The mandatory use of the rare egg machine is improved by the godfest. If you get a mediocre rare (not a god, basically) uninstall, reinstall, and do the tutorial again. Also if you can, run the first two levels of the Challenge dungeon (in the special dungeons category). That will get you 10 uses of the normal egg machine and 500,000 gold for fusing monsters with. Very handy.
whoo! nut is pretty good! there's a godfest today? i have some gems saved up, i might go roll a few times, see if i can get that isis i want. valkyries are pretty good starters too, they have high damage but also high recovery, and give a damage boost to healer cards. norns aren't great fighters, but their leader skill and special skill are both pretty decent. another good starter, if you can get her, is echidna. the 'scarlet snake princess' occasional dungeon drops nagas frequently, and a couple normal dungeons drop them rarely; you can evolve a naga into echidna, who does a mass attack every turn. this is super helpful at low levels, since you can just focus on staying healed and let her wear the enemy down. even once you've got better cards, you'll want to keep her around for farming evo materials and the like; fully leveled and skilled, she can just walk through low-tier daily dungeons, which saves lots of time.
Nut isn't from the godfest, though, that's just random. There's a pretty decent reroll tier guide if you want to know whether to keep rerolling. Godfests absolutely help. (Also padherder is generally awesome.)
i really disagree with their ranking, though. they're going by objective awesomeness. i would rank first-time rolls by how much it helps you with the really early dungeons, like up to the point where you get access to technical dungeons and can start spamming pengdra. why rank conditional multipliers like dqxq ahead of always-on multipliers like odin? 4+ combos is really hard to get when you're just learning the game, and even once you're good at it, you can easily get orbtrolled just when you need that bonus the most. i only rely on dqxq in 3-color and 4-color dungeons. i like a sure thing. :D anyhow, i think a solid all-round fighter with an always-on leader skill, like valkyries, norns, and odins, are a better starter than something more powerful that takes skill and luck to activate. when you're rank 300+ and you have 190 stamina, it's easy to forget just how goddamn frustrating it is to fail a 5-stam dungeon and have to call it a day.
Then I am even more delighted that she came to me. :D Seriously, her aesthetic is great (blue! starry skies! the flowing swirling look of her! the mask of her evo!) and both her skill and her leader skill are great.
REM got confused and passed her to me. My god is she lovely, I see now why you wanted one. She's in today's REM thing, though, if you have more stones! My team as of now, between zooming through the normal dungeons until I unlocked technical, dumping all my rare stones into the REM, and taking advantage of that special tamadra for the insane EXP bonus: #rainbow order is very important Some day I'm gonna have a serious blue team.
DQXQ is pretty easy to activate (with a bit of practice), and there are a ton of things that die instantly at 16x and take forever at 6.25x. It's really hard to orb-troll dqxq; I've seen exactly one board since I started playing them that couldn't trigger them and wasn't a result of orb-changes away from a board that would have worked.
troof! i had some stones, so i rolled a few times today. didn't get isis (frownyface) but what i did get is arguably even better: blue valkyrie!!! if i could get red valk and green valk now i would be the happiest idiot in the game, i swear. imagine fielding this team: it would be a VALKYRIEPOCALYPSE
this team would be terrible for me. there's two good ways to sort them by color D: the way you have them, or this way: i wouldn't be able to be happy either way. hard to say. none of the featured monsters are ones i'm looking for, so hadn't looked much at it... i usually only bother with the rare egg machine during godfests.
your valkyrie arrangement is the most aesthetically pleasing, i just put black-winged first because mine has the most plusses, since i've had her the longest.
