So at what point should I be concerned? [Medical questions]

So - I just realized that I...kinda don't have an actual baseline for what a normal amount of pain is? Or when I should be feeling it?

And also, currently my back and right side (mostly just my lower right side, above my hip) hurt and they're continuing to hurt after 2 midol, and this has just...been going on most of the day now. And I'm not even sure if I should be concerned? Like...I keep going "I should take a couple more midol maybe, or microwave the heatable stuffed bear I got" and then immediately following that thought with "nah, it's just gas, it'll be fine, we just gotta wait it out".

What's really got me on the fence about it is, the last time I felt this gross, I did end up going to the hospital and they ended up going "it's...probably your gallbladder? As best as we can tell? It's definitely not your heart". (Also there were two instances of puking, both after I'd taken a Tums tablet, so I'm also going "well, that might help" "but last time, we puked".)

(Also motivating this: the period-monitoring app I use (Clue) sent me an email along the lines of "okay, so, after reviewing the data from your last three cycles, if you're experiencing constant abdominal pain, you should get that checked out". And the area around my right hip and...I assume the ovary there, does tend to get cranky a lot.)

Fake edit: And in the time it took me to write all that, I'm actually physically feeling a bit better. Back's sore, but it's more mid-back around where my bra hits. Hip/ovary is cranky, but that's...normal, honestly? Still gonna hit post, cos figuring out if something is hospital-worthy is a Good Idea.

After two midol that's pretty bad pain. I also tend to have trouble with knowing when there is too much pain, but I am pretty sure at that point it's probably not a good thing. Especially if it keeps up for more than a day or so.

It sounds concerning and like something a doctor should check out probably? I don't know if it's specifically hospital worthy, but a doctor visit probably wouldn't be amiss.

(Like lmao, I get random intense chest/stomach pains that sometimes make me puke, and lemme tell you I keep forgetting that is not normal. I feel you so hard on this whole 'when is the point you are supposed to be concerned' thing)

the normal amount of pain is zero, and normally people only feel pain after injury or strenuous exersize

i think this is definitly concerning enough to visit a doctor about. it seems like it's affecting your everyday life, which is not normal and not good, you should not be in pain every day. and witnessed about that hospital visit, you deserve more than an email, and they should have poked you about some kind of followup re: gallbladder.

Oh - sorry, I guess I wasn't clear? The email was from an app I use to keep track of my period and my monthly cycle, not from the hospital; it was a fairly generic "hey, these are the things we've noticed based on the stuff you've self-reported" and one of them was that, well, I report a lot of cramps and ovarian pain outside of my period (although looking at the records, it's not every day usually). And the hospital did try to do followup, but I fucked up by missing the ultrasound appointment (and that was nearly two years ago at this point, and in a different city); I should've gone back to the clinic I saw there to reschedule it, but I was too ashamed and embarrassed.

It's hurts less now? But if it's still happening tomorrow, I'll mention it to Matesprit and either go to the clinic or the hospital. (I don't currently have a doctor, beyond "whoever's available at the walk-in clinic". I do need to go pick up my care card, at which point I can start looking for someone local who's taking new patients.)

Yeah if it's still in pain tomorrow you really should see someone. Witnessed though cuz dealing with medical shit is like a billion times harder than most things so I avoid it at all cost

Woke up not in pain! My hip currently hurts a bit? But I'm not sure how much of that is aggravated or even caused by sitting weird. Still gonna mention it to a doctor next time I see one (and noting it down on my phone so I don't forget about that), but it doesn't really feel like I need to go see one right away?
