There was a zipline. She fell off. They wouldn't give her drugs. Apparently, Japan doesn't hold with percocet? They just put her in a cast, gave her some aspirin, and sent her on her way. She had to fly back here to get sugery. She's going in to the doctor tomorrow. Our mom and Cassie's husband's mom convened for a mom-conference at our place to figure out what to do next. There was a speakerphone consultation. Cassie sounded tired. There were specifics about which bones broke how and every time I think of them I get sympathetic leg-splintery feelings so I am trying not to. (One more strike against the utility of a strong empathetic response. urrgh.)
Oh man D= Yeah, Japan is fucking STRICT about meds. I had to get permission from the government to bring in more than a month's worth of all my stuff, and ADHD meds like Adderall are banned here because they contain amphetamine. Concerta, which I take so I didn't have a problem, was only made legal in like 2007. Also apparently if you get diagnosed with ADHD when you're older than 18, you're not allowed to be prescribed meds. WOW OK WELL THEN??? Anyway uh yes. Japan. I thought I would explain why medicine is weird here! But man, I hope you're sister's okay D= That really sucks.
And they wonder why they have such a high suicide rate! If you can't get meds, there isn't a whole lot of other options. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_in_Japan
ugh, that sounds like a huge mess. And now, Japan is on my list of places to not go without a very good reason.
