the day i find somebody else who listens to jewel is the day i can die happy. or poets of the fall. what are some songs or bands you've heard, that you enjoy, that nobody you'd like talking to seems to like? what are your favorite songs by the seemingly-obscure bands? stuff like that, yknow how it goes. i classify obscure as.... i found it on my own or was introduced to it by a single person and i since haven't seen mention of it outside of my own among my friend groups, internet groups, or family. not an obscure band or song, but quick story now that's i'm here. superbeast by rob zombie was my favorite song as a 5-8 year old and for some reason i knew all the lyrics. looking back i can see why i'm still a bit of a heavy metal junkie. anyway some bands i've heard nobody else mention of mine and my favorite songs by them are... Jewel --> Stand Poets of the Fall --> Hounds to Hamarita Beartooth --> The Lines and Beaten in Lips Starset --> Point of No Return
I love orange caramel and dont really know anyone else whos heard of them, but that might just be cause its kpop. Fave song is superwoman
I like Poets of the Fall! sort of. a little bit. like, I know 3-4 songs, which has to count for something. my main obscure band is Life's Decay - Ettese, Valensky, etc. obscure enough that I can't find anything on youtube with decent audio quality >:O (eta: that first video was horribly flashy and there isn't anything better to change it to, ughhhhh. swapped it for a different song, even though Gloria is probably my favorite LD song and now I'm annoyed.)
Blackmore's night, Heather Dale, and celtic thunder. The only person I know knows about them is my sister because I showed them to her.
I've heard of celtic thunder but not listened to them. I heard about defunct canadian indie band Immaculate Machine in... grade 12? From a kid in my music class who listed it as one of his fave bands during a presentation. Some of their stuff feels kind of samey but i like it, and Kathryn Calder now has like 3 of her own solo albums and she's rly good too. But idk how obscure they both are, theyve probably been interviewed by the CBC at least once each. Ooh ooh heres something i cant find on youtube: their EP (?) "Les Uns Mais Pas Les Autres", which is french versions of like 6 songs from tgeir album Ones And Zeroes. On my phone atm so i cant link things
Bertine Zetlitz. Don't know if she's really obscure or not, but. I'm the only one I know who listens. I love Midnight a lot. Edit: Lol, I'm one of two comments on that video. I forgot! Also I have a couple of Poets of the Fall songs, my friend from high school introduced me.
