It's steam summer sale time!! I'm most excited to play Goat Simulator, Portal 2, and House of Many Doors, but I also got a couple Fallout games (which sadly won't run on my current laptop but at least I have them for later) and am considering Bioshock, Stardew Valley, and Darkest Dungeon. What is everyone else getting? Anyone have any recs, maybe for some lesser known games?
Portal is like $1 and Portal 2 is like $2 rn i got them both for like $2.23 total or something crazy like that, if you dont have them yet go get them
I haven't bought anything for myself yet this sale but I did get my best friend sunless sea. It's good fun and I need to play it more myself I only ever explored half the map. stardew and bioshock are both great and for sure worthy of consideration
i got Spore because it had looked fun but alas, even with the most tweaking i could do, my blind ass couldn't read the words in the menus at all. :/ my screen did the same thing it does to my copy of Photoshop, so i had to get a refund. a lot of the games i want are like 5-6 bucks+ out of my current range.. so i'm debating getting a few cheaper games, or cashing in and grabbing Morrowind or something the same price since i was so hooked on that game on xbox.
Hyperlight Drifter and Darkest Dungeon have both been gotten at last. Out of like weird obligation to see what they're like. I also picked up Hylics for 98 cents too. It's a weird little Earthboundlike that I've seen a bit of. May as well play it myself.
I'm proooobably going to get OneShot and Don't Starve. I don't games much, but 2064: Read Only Memories is a good one that I recommend! Narrative-based cyberpunk adventure stuff, point-and-click, very queer, lots of diversity in general, also good if you like having lots of emotions about cute robots! Also you can attempt to talk to a lot of inanimate objects and use items in silly ways a lot, which is fun :D (if anyone has other cool indie games with good queer representation to recommend pls let me know!)
I definitely recommend Don't Starve! It's worth getting the whole bundle with the dlc and the multiplayer version, too. They add a lot of content and they're very discounted right now.
OH RECOMMENDATIONS So both Kentucky Route Zero and Never Alone are on sale rn and I defs recommend them. Especially Kentucky Route Zero, that's my favorite game ever. Magical realist Southern Gothic, absolutely beautiful with a storyline like a classic novel. If you want to sample before you buy go to the game's website and download Limits & Demonstrations, The Entertainment and/or Here And There Along The Echo, which are kinda supplementary material to KRZ. Just please be aware that it's still being developed and 4/5 acts have been released so far. Not sure when the 5th act is going to drop either, 4 took quite a while to be released after 3. I put this warning on cause we've had a shitton of people complaining about the wait time in the forums and it drives me a little bit nuts.
I was not aware that Kentucky route zero wasn't finished yet. I've been eyeballing it for yonks with intent to buy at some point. I will wait and then I will obtain it in a future sale cause unfinished games make me sad. Though I make exception for rimworld and slime rancher. Both are a good time and slime rancher is down for official release soon though they still plan on more content after that.
i got half life 1, borderlands: the pre sequal, Civ V and i wanted to get borderlands 1 but it was only avalible for windows?? im sad i wanna get a few more before the sale ends does anyone have recomendations for FPS style mac games?
Half Life 2? I haven't finished it precisely cause it's a FPS and that's not my thing but it's still like... pretty & interesting & challenging. @Quiet Lump I highly doubt that the devs will not finish KRZ & I love it even unfinished, but it is up to you.
