That Stupid Cheesy New Lego Show (The Lego Elves Thread)

Ok so. The show is dumb. Really, really dumb. And yet for some reason I really like it??? IDK why, but come yell with me about it.

 

GOD IT'S REALLY CUTE??? AND I LIKE THE MESHING OF THE LEGO BITS AND THE NOT LEGO BITS

I've been watching it in french for practice so it's a slightly different experience but I'M SUCH A FAN.

 

AHHHH I LOVE IT A LOT??? The animation is very nice and the characters/setting/everything is all super pretty to look at.

And the characters are a lot less one-dimesional than I would have expected??? They aren't exactly the most fleshed out characters ever, obviously, but they actually do have personalities and differ in their reactions and reponses to things?

 

AAAA YEAH AGREED!!! I'm not actually that far in—I'm half through with the episode where sophie gets shifted to the goblin village—but yeah, I love it :D :D

I dddddo feel like some of them are playing into Common Tropes, but it's not SO bad that it's annoying

I'M SO HYPE TO BE ON THE SAME EP SO WE CAN RANT ABOUT STUFF BECAUSE OH MY GOSH I HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT THIS SHOW.

 

Although I have to say I really love Sophie's "if you're going to do something evil, shouldn't you just do it instead of standing around talking about it?" line. Tbh I love all her lines, she is precious and says exactly what I'm thinking.

ALSO SOPHIE IS SUCH GOOD CONTENT. I'm so glad they didn't go the "new human? old human feels Left Out" route too hard

 

I am also glad they didn't go that route! It was nice to see Emily and Sophie as sisters who like each other and are slightly irritated at one another sometimes, instead of at each other's throats/jealous of each other or whatever.

Ok so with Naida going "there's something off about Rosalyn" so much there has to be something wrong, that will get revealed and then immidiently shown to be not actually bad. She's going to be Cronan's sister or former girlfriend or something, I am sure. And obviously he still betrayed her and she was keeping this relationship secret for dumb reasons, like it's her fault her brother/boyfriend betrayed her and stole her throne. Sigh. Show, please don't be so predictable.

And of course our heroes will be upset for like one episode maximum, and then get over it and be BFFs forever.
